Anybody know what nose panel this is?
Nick, that is my favorite nosepanel. Only seen it a couple of times and just in images, never in the "metal", but it's the one I want for mine :D I like John's twin vented panel but there's something about the single that, aside from letting in a great dollop of air, just looks so aggressive!

The Official "Yes, I WOULD like to buy your album" thread!
Hi everyone :) It's been a while since the last update as things have been absolutely mental this end trying to organise everything with the album release. The good news is, we're now on the home stretch and although it's been a lot of hard work (up till 4am most nights trying to get it all done!) I think it's definately been worth...and I'm now able to offer a whole load of additional things with the album... :D I've had to temporarily shelve the idea of doing a "metal book" version, however, because of this, I've altered the format of the 100 Special Edition versions in a way that I hope people are going to really like. Here's the text from my Bigcartel shop: There are 100 copies in Digipak format, each one individually numbered. Every copy is signed and includes a 6 page, full colour, roll-fold booklet. These Special Editions also come with a This Burning Guitar Pick, two Badges, a signed A3 This Burning Age Promo Poster and a very special custom designed This Burning Age "Zener Test" Card onto which is printed a code which can be redeemed in the Download section of our official website: http://www.thisburningage.com to claim a free non-album track. Both this card and the download track will not be available to buy anywhere else. The designs (featured below, not to scale) are now at the printers and all being well this Special Edition merchandise is on schedule to be with me at the beginning of next week: For those that miss the days when getting an album was more than just keying in your card details and hearing a single mp3 track taken out of context...when buying an album and particularly a special edition version was a great experience, not just because of the music therein, but because of the artwork and the feeling you got from it...that you had purchased something genuinely special that the artist cared about...well, I hope I've been able to put some of that back with this release. Because of these alterations I've had to alter the price slightly. The standard album (un-numbered but with booklet and signed...I'm only selling signed copies within this club and one other car club, no where else) can still be purchased for £7 (+ £1.50 P&P UK delivery) however the Special Edition will now be for sale at £9 (+ £1.50 P&P). So, to all those that registered their interest, if this price change isn't ok, it's no problem, just post here and I'll remove your name from the list. If, however, you'd still like to buy one, if you could state whether you'd like a "standard" copy or a "Special Edition" copy, I'll add you to the appropriate list (which I will Edit into the first post at the start of this thread). I'll be contacting you all via PM with the Paypal details this week with a view to shipping shortly afterwards! :) Thanks to everyone who's supported me through all this...it's genuinely very much appreciated :) Cheers, Leigh.

Apache: Hey chap! First off, got to say, thank you so much again for putting me in touch with Stu...the guy is a genius and I wouldn't have anywhere near as good a site if it weren't for him, so cheers chap! Yep, everyone who's put (or hopefully will still put!) their names down on the list on here will be getting the limited edition "first 100" copies with all the trimmings. So far, before advertising and including those from sites like this, I've got pre-sale orders for just over 50 copies so there's still ones with all the extras still available for those that want them... :D We've taken a break for most of August as it's going to get very nuts very quickly once the album's released so our first gig is back with a bang at a Kerrang affiliated gig at the Wharf 10 in Walsall, featuring support from us and 3 other bands with a headline slot from an ex-Hot Hot Heat member ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Hot_Heat ) with their new band LUV. There's also DJ sets throughout the night from Kerrang's Luke and Johnny Doom...should be a good one! If anyone is interested I have tickets for sale for a reduced rate of only £5...let me know if you want some while I've stil got 'em! :D Paulzx: cheers for the support! Will put your name down now chap! :)

One of my favourite Zs.
Looks a lovely "clean" Z but I have to say I'm not a fan of the spoiler (and would echo the comments about going smooth) and I've never liked those Porsche, cookie-cutter style alloys...always think they look both too fussy and too retro. Just my opinion though! ;)

Well.............. IT'S DONE!!! It's been a long road to get here, over two years in fact, but last week I had a delivery...I'm now writing this within a makeshift fort of 9 Large boxes containg 1000 CD's, lined up, row upon slightly unbelievable row, in pristine Digipaks. Still can't quite get my head round it to be completely honest with you. I keep opening a box and sneaking a peek! I know I have more than a vested interest but I can honestly say that they look fantastic! The reason I didn't make the announcement straight away is because there are now a few other things on the cards...the first 100 Digipaks are going to be limited editions in themselves, the upshot being you're now going to get a lot more free goodies with your Cd's folks. Here's the "bumf" taken from the work-in-progress Bigcartel page that will be taking orders in a few weeks: A limited run of 1000 copies in Digipak format, each individually hand stamped with its own issue number. Every copy is signed and includes a 6 page, roll-fold booklet. The first 100 copies are "special editions" which also come with a This Burning Age branded Guitar Pick, two Badges and instructions on how to claim a free track which is not available to buy anywhere else. This latter "freebie" plus the wait for the remaining free merchandise is the reason the albums are being held back a wee bit more (sorry guys! Hope you think it's worth it! :)). I want everyone to have a free track (it's looking like it's going to be an acoustic version of "Panic") so I'm currently putting my head together with my coding and website guru Stu to make this happen. The plan is to also offer many other free, non-album tracks available on our main site and also allow people to purchase download codes for tracks on the Bigcartel page ( http://thisburningage.bigcartel.com/ ) and then use them to claim their download on our main website thus circumventing the whole iTunes/Amazon Brigade which, when paired with a distributor which you have to have to get on there, both end up taking a huge chunk of the proceeds...this way the only fee I'd have to pay is to PayPal...The ability to offer free stuff is pretty much sorted bar some tinkering, I'm just keeping fingers crossed we can sort the selling of tracks out as well! ;) But the main thing is...they're finished guys. Just got to tie up a few "loose ends" and they can be sent out. For all those buying the album (and anyone else for that matter!) if you've got a moment to spare, it would be great if you don't mind checking out our new forum: http://www.thisburningage.com/forum/ and if you fancy it, sign up and post. The forum and indeed the entire site hasn't been officially announced yet as it's still a work-in-progress and a lot of stuff still needs work (a lot of the graphics are bang out of alignment, some of the Flash doesn't work, the Images section should link to our official Flickr site when clicking thumbnails, the "Secret" pages don't load yet....I could go on, lol! ;)). But...feel free to have a mosey round :) If you can post that would be muchos appreciated...being a member means you'll get first pick of new merch, new downloads and occasionally money off and/or backstage entry to shows. Can't believe it's finished. Right. Better continue working on album No.2 then! :D ;)

Does anyone know the official position RE: MOT and exhaust noise levels?
Cheers lahsx will take a look at Apex products :) Unfortunately I can't justify buying another variable control exhaust bypass as I'm already getting one for my own V8 and money is ridiculously tight as it is :( A simple bolt in baffle definately seems to be the way forward for the NA. Cheers for the standard exhaust option Nick, I'll keep it in mind just in case thinghs go t1ts up! :D ;)

A bolt on baffle would be ideal. It's for this little bVgger: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=99227 (I ended up buying it back from the guy I sold it to some months later!)

Does anyone know the official position RE: MOT and exhaust noise levels?
Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated. So it's down to the disgression of the tester (interesting to know there are no decibel meters in a testing station! You're a tester then lahsx? Cheers for the advice! :)). Ok, so if we wanted to lessen the chances of being refused on this basis, is there an off the shelf "universal fit" silencer available that could be put in for the test and removed afterwards? I mention it as I could've sworn I saw a link to one for a Supra a while back...

Does anyone know the official position RE: MOT and exhaust noise levels?
That's more or less what I'd heard chap...not good :( A while back I was reading about the police stopping cars that were "overly loud" and testing them. Just been given this link as well: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8112905.stm However, I'm still wondering if, due to its age, it might be excluded (fingers crossed :( )?

LWB Nick. And the fecker is genuinely so loud it's offensive...essentially the automotive equivalent of sticking two fingers up at a nun... :D ;)

Recurring Blue Screen Error Message on my PC :(
Right, an update. I've tried two things: firstly, turning off the quick start-up in BIOS so it performs a memory check. It didn't seem to highlight any problems. Secondly, I ran memtest86 last night...came to it this morning and the results, after 6 passes were that the memory is absolutely fine. Hmmm... Question: I'm running two HD's, the main drive (which is new) which has been partitioned so that the smaller portion is used for Windows and the larger is used as storage and a second drive which I used to use to record audio when this computer was my DAW...so...although this second drive doesn't contain any Windows files, could it still cause these BSOD's? I have also started to notice a "clicking" coming from the general direction of the HD's which doesn't sound good (I know it can be a sign of imminent HD failure)...however this isn't all the time and it can run for hours upon hours before it starts, and then it can go as suddenly as it appeared. lusitano: I had no idea who or what "Fatal1ty" was until I Googled: he seems to be some sort of "pro" gamer...er...right then! ;) TBH, I was all set to buy an i7 system but the album then needed more money than I'd accounted for so I had to put it towards that instead, so part of me is saying hold off on buying a stop-gap as it's a false economy when it's not what I really want! Then again, if the price is right...well, let me know when you do and we'll take it from there ;)

Does anyone know the official position RE: MOT and exhaust noise levels?
My other half's Z is due the dreaded MOT and I'm a little concerned about the noise levels from the exhaust. She's fitted the straight through, single exit system from my old TT as she loved the aggressive exhaust note (somehow I managed to turn her into a petrol head a couple of years back...Christ knows how I managed it! lol ;)). However, now it's on an NA it's truly loud...I mean Armageddon-esque L-O-U-D loud. TBH it sounds fantastic (if occasionally annoying when cruising at speed on the motorway...) but I'm not sure whether it will pass an MOT as it is. I believe our cars are exempt from the emissions test (well the early ones anyway...I think?) so does this also apply to decibel levels, if indeed that is part of the test now? If so, what would people suggest as the easiest way to get it through? Are there any off-the-shelf mufflers that would fit or will I need to get a custom jobbie made up...she really doesn't want to change the exhaust! Any advice would be appreciated!

Recurring Blue Screen Error Message on my PC :(
Think I spoke too soon about everything running ok as, a few hours after posting, the inimitable BSOD made an appearance and the computer refused to reboot thereafter...and this morning it also point blank refused to play ball, getting as far as just before the Windows logo before saying Boot Error etc etc. So, without being able to get into Windows to run a Memory test I decided to get a little more direct and removed one of the modules...and lo and behold, it starts first time with no errors or Check Disk etc. Not counting my chickens yet but it "seems" like that may be the problem. I'll put it back in and see if it stalls again when I've finished grabbing the few remaining files on here that aren't backed up! Really wish I could afford a whizzbang new i7 system... :(

Which Blog software should I go for?
Anyone have any experience with Blogs? I want to integrate one into my bands new website but I'm not entirely sure which one out of these to go for: http://wordpress.org/ http://www.livejournal.com/ https://www.blogger.com/start Or is there one that I haven't listed that I should consider? Ideally I'd like to mainly do video blogs which I can upload to YouTube or Vimeo and embed into the Blog (I'm guessing that's the best way to go about it?). If possible I'd then use the Blog on our website as the main one for all our other social networking sites (MySpace, Facebook, Last FM, ReverbNation etc etc), directing them all to it either directly or via RSS feed (is that the right way of putting it? Only just getting accustomed to this sort of thing ;)). Aside from the videos there would be the occasional photo and a few odd lines or lyrics thrown in. The page would also have to be quite "customise-able" so I could make it look as thematically close to our website as possible with the addition of Logo graphic etc. If anyone could advise me that would be great and much appreciated! :)

Recurring Blue Screen Error Message on my PC :(
Guys, I can't thank you enough for your comments. After my last HD appeared to be on the way out I was advised to buy a new one so, back in December of last year I did, buying a Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB model. I also bought 2Gb (2x1Gb) of DDR memory. It seems like the problems I've been having since then may well be connected, although weirdly it was a few months before things started to go wrong which is why I didn't make the connection (and I have to admit I know next to nothing about this sort of thing!). I've been getting blue screen messages every day for nearly 2 weeks now but yesterday after it failed to boot up, which often happens after getting the BSOD, saying there was a Boot Disk Failure and asking that I insert the original Win XP disk, I did so, as I've done before but with no results...but this time it went directly to Check Disk and proceeded to boot up Windows. Since then it hasn't gone wrong....TBH though, I'm not going to hold my breath...I have a feeling it's going to do it again very soon... :( This computer is going to be the death of me :(

Stillen race kit
Ike and Mike they think alike Rob! :D ;) I've been fascinated by this car for quite a while now and getting some up close and personal photos/measurements to "fill in the gaps" so to speak would be ideal. Tremendous car. :)

Stillen race kit
A schematic would be more than I'd hoped for and if it's possible that would be fantastic Si. Will keep fingers crossed. :) Shots of the front and rear face on, side and at three quarter angles plus bonnet and sideskirts (the latter to show the width) would also be great but no worries at all if not chap, only if you happen to be taking some anyway... :)

Stillen race kit
Si, when you go over, I would be very interested if you could find out the cars dimensions if you don't mind asking? I've searched high and low and came up with bVgger all. :(
