Guess I’m a noob again.?
Cheers Tony! Crohns has been difficult these last few years tbh but still managing to stay vertical the majority of the time so mustn’t grumble. Music stuff is still very much front and centre, but like everyone, coronavirus hit us hard. Tours were cancelled and pretty much everything got put on hold so I’ve just been keeping busy writing for both the next album and a new electro side project. Really missing playing live though. ?

Guess I’m a noob again.?
Been away in the world of LR Defenders for a while now (currently on my third ?) but thought I’d resurrect my membership and say hi. My LWB TT is gone, the VH45DE conversion got sold part way through as I needed the money, the spare shell went around the same time and I’m now down to our LWB NA (not to mention a metric fvck-tonne of spares ?) which has been off the road with electrical issues for quite a few years now. Just need to find a decent Z specialist to get her back on the road! Leigh.

Wizards of Nos Street Blaster 150i kit with bottle
Selling my Wizards of Nos Street Blaster 150i kit with bottle. I originally had this as part payment on some Zed parts quite a few years ago and it was sold to me as fully working although I've never fitted it to test. I'm happy to admit I know absolutely nothing about Nos kits so I've been in contact with Wizards of Nos themselves and, in their words, these kits are pretty rock solid and retain their market value as even the newer kits are essentially the same design. According to the rep who had a look over the photos posted below it appears to have been professionally modified to turn it into a twin nozzle system. There's also a Minimax controller circuit-board/digital display (maybe it lived in a custom dash pod?) and a TPS unit. The advice I was given and which I'd pass on is that the seals could do with checking, aside from that he saw no reason why it shouldn't be good to go. As a side note, WoN were also willing to rebuild the Minimax controller back to "off the shelf" spec but that's best left to someone with the time and the inclination! These kits brand new (which this isn't!) fetch between £550 - £650 (the bottles alone go for £118 ex VAT) so if you're thinking about adding some nitrous grab a bargain here for £350. As it's being sold with a gas canister, although it's empty, I imagine there are a fair few rules regarding safe postage so I'm asking for it to be collected from my home address in Solihull. If you want to arrange your own safe (and legal!) courier then I'd be happy to package it up. Cheers, Leigh. SOLD

Anyone know anything about NOS kits? Got one I'm trying to find some info on.
In that case I'll drop Nick a line on Facebook, cheers! :)

Many thanks for the info Mark. As much as it would be an obscene amount of fun I think our remaining NA (my wife's!) is best left unfettled as our plan is to return it back to factory spec so this kit will definitely be going up for sale. Speaking of bottle's, I did a bit more hunting today and it turns out that I still have the 11lb bottle it came with which is a bonus.

Noted. Cheers for the interest. Right, well I seem to have got the majority of my questions answered a lot sooner than I expected. A Wizard of Nos rep has just been in contact (at gone 1am in the morning...now that's customer service!) - apparently it's an older Street Blaster 150i system that appears to have been professionally modified to turn it into a twin nozzle system. There's also a Minimax controller circuit-board/digital display without its casing (maybe it lived in a custom dash pod?) and a TPS unit. The WoN guy seems quite interested in it and is being pretty helpful but still digging for info on price etc.

Around the time I was doing the VH45DE conversion I was buying and selling a lot of parts to get everything I needed and at one point I ended up with a Wizard of Nos car-kit as part payment on an item I was selling. My health got worse, the project got canned and a lot of the parts got put into storage. Fast forward quite a few years and whilst having a clear-out I come across the same kit, exactly in the same condition I'd left it (dry storage, even temperature etc.). I've got absolutely no idea what I've got or what it's worth, if anything, so I'm trying to do a little digging. I've just reached out to WoN on their Facebook page but I was wondering if anyone on here could also shed any light on what I've got? It might be pennies or it might be a few bob but either way, once I know a bit more it'll be going up for sale!

URAS Bonnet Vent - JDM Import Only Item - Not a Replica
Here we have a bit of a rarity in the UK: an original URAS Bonnet Vent originally sourced for my V8 project car, the same as was used on the SPL time-attack vehicle. There are cheap copies to be had but this is an original item made so it flexes with your bonnet and doesn't crack (which the copies are prone to doing). It's an import only item which I brought in through a mate in Saitama a few years back - I didn't get a chance to fit it so it's been kept in storage, still as new as it was when it first arrived. Mould onto your bonnet or rivet it on if you're a double-hard b@st@rd. £120 collection from Solihull (could arrange P&P if you absolutely can't collect). SOLD

4 Pot Rear Tail-Light Conversion Panel
Rear 4 Pot, Round Tail-Light Conversion from my old LWB. Taken from the original accurate mould waaaaay back in 2004. Primed but could do with a tidy up as it's been in storage. £80 collection from Solihull, West Midlands.

Awwww...cheers fellas :) I don't know how we managed it but two tiny folk like us have somehow managed to make a Hulk of a baby. He was born 8lb 15oz (C-Section thank Christ! ;) ) and at nearly 5 months he's well over a stone!! :D

A slight case of the Hotel California's...
Hey guys, thanks for the welcome back :) I sold my two other Z's and the VH45DE conversion as my health took a bit of a nosedive so I wasn't able to work on them as much as I needed to but we still have one NA Z left (technically Lucie's... ;) ) although that's currently been off the road nearly 2 years after a starter motor/electrical problem. Although I still love Z's I moved back into Land Rover Defender's and after a succession of glorious, wobbly, oil spitting trucks we finally found the funds to buy a mint 2009 110 XS...it has electric windows, proper air-con (not just a couple of rusty holes you can see the road through), heated seats and everything (heated seats! In a Defender! I nearly fell over...). But that's not really the big news - nearly five months ago Luce gave birth to our first son, "Hunter"! And yep, the band's still going. We're halfway through releasing a series of four 3-track EP's, the first two called Supplication and Devotion respectively, available in all the usual haunts like Amazon, iTunes etc.etc. Funnily enough I'm in the studio tomorrow for another session on the third EP...it's hard work at times as trying to get noticed in the industry is a little like banging your head repeatedly against a brick wall but we're getting some great press and it's still fun which is a big thing. Here's a link to me and the lads poncing about in a disused factory (the natural habitat of Alt-Rock musicians): Anyway, the plan is to eventually get Luce's Z back to mint stock condition as best we can and selling some aftermarket bodywork bits and some hideously expensive fast road/track Dry Sump equipment from PACE when I get round to it so I'll probably be lurking around the forums on and off. Nice to see some familiar names are still about. :) Leigh.

Security for my Zeds
Just a thought but if security is your goal how about something that will stop them driving off even if they manage to get past your car alarm: a quick release steering wheel hub! And it just so happens I'm selling one of the better makes in my thread in the For Sale section, just look for the one with "My BIG For Sale" in the title :)

Old forum member stopping by to say hi and to ask for help!
Thanks for the heads up chap. As far as "cures" go I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical as the official line at the moment is that there's no cure. There is a phase 1 trial going on in the UK at the moment involving a cutting edge Stem Cell/Chemo combination which I was invited to take part in however I ended up having to decline due to the severity of my disease as the chances were high that I wouldn't survive the process. It's been very successful in other countries though and people are tentatively heralding it as a potential "cure". I wonder if a lot of her "recovery" is down to the pain killing aspects of Marijuana rather than anything more profound? It's also possible she may have been misdiagnosed as Crohns is notoriously difficult to pin down and often gets confused with IBS (which can itself be quite severe) and other less serious bowel disorders. That said, as someone who has tried pretty much everything the alternative world has to offer to fight it, I try to keep an open mind. Oil derivatives I certainly haven't tried but, from a pain relieving perspective (and speaking as a patient who has had severe and aggressive disease running throughout my gastric system for over 20 years, with multiple strictures, almost constantly active inflammation and minimal bowel left due to 10+ major operations, who has to rely on Morphine patches and Pethidine tablets on a daily basis just to function) I can certainly say that when used properly, Marijuana can be a very helpful weapon in the fight against pain and intestinal spasms...

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in replying, was gigging in Stratford-on-Avon last night...nearly melted into a small puddle it was so hot in the venue! ;) After having a look at the tally today it looks like we're now definitely out of the running for the competition which is a shame really as the other two bands jockeying for pole position are...well...er...sh*te! And that's me speaking without my "Band Hat" on...truly sphincter clenching stuff! But when you've got acres of school/college kids to call on for votes I guess the outcome was always a bit of a no-brainer :( Anyway, thanks to all those that took the time to vote, it's genuinely appreciated! Might be signing up here again soon anyway as I've got a garage full of juicy aftermarket bits that never made it to my project car to sell now the V8 has moved on so I doubt it'll be too long before I'm posting again :) Cheers, Leigh.

From what I gather, same IP with different accounts "within reason" (i.e. a household computer) is fine. The problem arises when someone decides to give you an additional 300 odd votes, lol! Bless 'em they mean't well (just found out who did it as they've apologised via email!) but it's really set us back and made us look a bit stupid :( Really, really appreciate the votes guys, and it's great to hear the album is still getting played! :D

Hey guys! :) We've just started recording the second album but it's a S-L-O-W process so far...fingers crossed hopefully worth it though as really excited about the new tracks! :) Sadly no longer in the lead as found out that some silly bugger got caught out doing multiple votes so we've had our tally rolled back to before the weekend, and I know we had a good 50 odd that were given by our guitarist slogging through his FB friends listed and messaging people individually so to lose those is a wee bit gutting. Really appreciate the fan loyalty but wish they hadn't done it...tbh, I'm not even certain how they did, lol! :) So, suffice to say, we need the votes now more than ever!

Old forum member stopping by to say hi and to ask for help!
Hi all, it's been a fair old while since I've posted on here but it's nice to be back! After a quick skim through the new posts it's great to see that I still recognise some of the names as well! :) Although I haven't been around for ages Lucie and I are still "Zedding" and despite having to sell the VH45DE project ( :( ) we still have our LWB NA...not to mention a LWB NA rolling shell taking up most of the garage! ;) For those that don't know me, aside from a love of 300zx's I have Crohn's and also have my own band, an Alt-Electro-Rock 5 piece called "This Burning Age", both of which have been taking over my life, in good and bad ways, for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, as the Crohns has progressed, I've found it more and more difficult to work on cars hence coming to the sad decision of selling the V8. However, the band side of things has luckily given me something else to focus on and it's one of the reasons why I'm posting here today. We've just entered the "Citroen Big Gig" Facebook competition and I come, cap in hand, asking if the forum members would vote for us. The track/video we've entered is called "Panic (Bring on the Bomb)", the 7th off our debut album "A Muzzle for the Masses" (if you're curious you can hear all the tracks on our Facebook "My Band" Page here! http://www.facebook.com/thisburningage?sk=app_2405167945 ), and the winner gets airplay and an interview on Kerrang Radio, Recording Studio Time, Premium iTunes listing and a heck of a lot of promotion...it could well be the fabled "lucky break" that helps us make the transition from Unsigned to Signed (and being an Unsigned Band trying to get noticed feels a lot like repeatedly smashing your head against a brick wall while attempting to maintain a smile!). The competition has been tough so far: we were 300 votes down only 2 days ago but yesterday we managed to pull ahead again. The other bands have waaaaay more Facebook followers than us so it's highly likely that our lead is soon going to diminish and with the final deadline of 5pm this Friday looming we really need all the help we can get. All you'd need to do is follow this link: http://www.facebook.com/CitroenRetailGroup?sk=app_110416925729022 when logged into Facebook and when you get to the "The Big Gig - The Final" page, click the Vote button underneath our video. I know it's a big ask but if it's possible to post the link on your FB Walls or email it to friends, family, work colleagues etc that would be amazing (if anyone could post it on other forums you're on that would frankly be awesome). I hope no one minds me asking but winning this competition really could open doors for us and with the Crohns playing silly b*ggers more and more, aside from family and friends, sad as it may sound, the music is all I've got left and I'm doing everything I can to make it work (sorry for the soppyness, normal service will now resume! :) ). Will keep fingers firmly crossed that you guys can help us out! Leigh :)
