  1. I'd have to agree that it's not the most inspiring name ever, but as Mike pointed it's hardly worth changing.
  2. I guess the BBQs off - Abandon ship -
  3. Twin Turbo, Manual, Import ZX mods declared up to a "potential" 400BHP. £353 with Houghton. I'm 31 with no claims etc. To get it that low I was, of course, a member of this fine club plus I limited the mileage to 5k a year and made it my second car. This means you don't have to use your NCB on it either. Jonno

    That would have been class...if I was going...but I'm not :(
  5. I saw Macs car in SE on Saturday night and it didn't look in any state to be cruising...
  6. I've got the GReddy Profec B from Chris @ GetGReddy - doddle to use and looks nice and OEM if installed properly. Jonno
  7. Red :) the avatar pic is my car.
  8. After many months and many thousands of my lovely pounds I've finally got my Z back on the road. After driving my Mitsubishi Warrior, she feels more like an aircraft than a car. Anyway I wanted to thank a few people who helped me along the way. Tony Lack - For an inspirational car. Drove his Z back in January and knew that manual conversion and stage II was the way forward for me. Peter Rosenberg at SE - Before I had my work carried out I searched the forums for posts about SE. It was a mixed bag. I have to say that SE have done great job and Peters advice has always been fair and honest. I'm already booking my car in for its paint with Pete and will definately be doing more business with him in the future. Smithy - Did me a great deal on a sack of kit for my car including the TD stage II's, RPS clutch/flywheel and all his shiney under bonnet toys. You've made the engine bay :) Chris @ Get GReddy - Gave me good advice on which parts to fit and I got my boost controller and IC's (thx for the GB) through him. AndyZ for supplying lots of bits and playing fair when I couldn't get quite what I needed....much appreciated. Not forgetting Houghton Insurance for an OUTSTANDING £353 fully comp, with all mods declared, renewal. I nearly fell off my chair. Thanks to anyone else who gave me advice via PMs along the way. I look forward to meeting a few people next year at some shows...seeing as how I missed everything this year  Jonno 1990 Jap-Import 300zx Twin Turbo, Manual Conversion by SE, TD Stage II Hybrid Turbos, GReddy Intercoolers, Scorpion Stainless Steel Exhuast, Chipped, K&N Induction, GReddy Boost Control (1.0 bar), RPS Max 6 Puck Clutch, RPS Billet Flywheel, Smithys shiney shiz!
  9. I'll def be comin Jonce, I won't be staying over tho. Paintball and quads is no prob. We'd have to go there before you all get slaughtered though cos my insurance company wouldn't have it any other way :)

I sent it down in February with a duff autobox and smoking turbos. Whilst there they did an engine rebuild, manual gearbox conversion, fitted TD stage II turbos (boost at 1 bar), GReddy intercoolers, GReddy boost controller, RPS Max clutch, RPS billet flywheel, polished the plenum and added Smithys hard pipes and other shiney bits. I saw your car sat in the compound. Peter said you're going down the manual route too in addition to your new tubs and what have you. Should be sweet. I saw CJs car in the spray booth and a trick paint job in the workshop. I think I'll be looking to SE for my paint early next year. Jonno.

Jason, Finally got my Z back from SE. She's going great. Just need to tidy her up now and get some paint. Might look you up for some carbon bits before Christmas. I'm also after some Strosek bits if you can still supply them. Have you found anyone local yet other than you know who for servicing and what have you? Jonno.
  12. Heh, I have a paintball site up at Scotch Corner on the A1 in the North, run by Bruce Wallace from the Darlington Mavericks :) I'd be up for it so long as it was next year now, what with Steve Bulls series and Staar Wars coming up this month. Do you post on the Walk on Zone forums Davido? Angel is a laides marker - you want one of these badboys http://web.onetel.com/~jzo/a5loaded.jpg - I'm kidding, just when I started playing in 1988 there were no inflatable fields and bling markers. It was all rec-ball, scenario and woodland tourny...and I love it old skool! Jonno.
  13. I'm up for the 9th :) I own the paintball site at Scotch Corner so I'll be just up the road anyway. Bit of quad biking / paintballing anyone? :) Jonno.
  14. 2nd car is a Mitsubishi L200 Warrior. Not much good at saving petrol but better in the snow.....and better in the dark! http://web.onetel.com/~jzo/warrior.jpg
  15. Guisborough here (or there abouts). About 15 mins from Middlesbrough. Yes. 41.6 miles. Whenever.
  16. Pearl yellow Z32 between Marton and Coulby Newham at around 5.15pm - 18/03/04 - anyone?

rofl - those rims are common as muck. I should know - I've got em :(

I have to say (having owned one) that the Saxo in it's VTR/S guise is a cracking little hot hatch. I don't like those exhausts though. Each to his own. :) Jonno.
  19. I've spent a lot of money on my Z since January 2001. This is a car that's over a decade old and because it goes very fast people tend to drive them very fast (go figure). It would be naive to think that you won't have to put your hand in your pocket on a regular basis especially if you want to mod it and use it every day. I don't want to put you off because they are a fantastic car but you need to be realistic. If you stretch yourself to buy the car and you don't have a reasonable maintenance budget I would look elsewhere. Having said all that I'm about as much use under the bonnet as Hitler was at public relations. If you're a bit tasty with a spanner you can save yourself a lot of cash. Most of my money has been spent on labour. Jonno.
  20. I do like both cars a lot. If it was my money I'd buy a 300zx, unless you're prepared to spend R34 GTR money (which you're not at 9k). GTS is only going to give you one turbo? I ain't getting out of bed for less than 2. Oh and the roof doesn't come off a skyline...and in the summer that's a must  If you can muster another 3k you should take a look at Tony Lacks 300zx "Lack300". It's for sale and it is  http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26771 Jonno.
  21. Rac

Jonno replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - Non 300ZX
I'm with the RAC and had them out twice this year. Both times they turned up at my home within the hour. One time was to pick up my Z to take it to SE for some work. Even though I explained the car had been off the road for 18 months they said it wasn't a problem. They even gave me a courtesy car for 3 days :) The other call was to start my wifes mini which was buggered. He had it going in about 10 minutes. I've been with the AA and they were just as good. Someone told me and I don't know how true this is:- The AA relay service doesn't take you all the way to your destination if you break down. They relay you from region to region and you might have to swap into another AA vehicle. Where the RAC take you all the way in one vehicle. Either way I think they're probably as good/bad as each other but I would recommend shelling out for the top package becuase you only have to get them out once, have your car towed and get a courtesy car or hotel bills paid and it's paid for itself. Jonno.
  22. It's a toss up between an Austin Ambassador or a Honda Quintet. A what? I hear you cry....exactly! :( One of my beetles was probably my crapest car but hey bugs are cool :) honest!
  23. Ok, so the 300ZX is a pretty sexy beast stock....but if you had to fit a kit, which would it be? Links or pics would be cool. I had my heart set on a Bomex one  (you know the pic with the white bomex passing the red 300ZX)....but that was 2 years ago and it just doesn't grab my attention now as much as it did then. Jonno.
