  1. lol look at it this way, you've livened up everyones afternoon and for that I thank you. She probably told you cos she thought you would find it as funny as we have. At least it wasn't someone really fit and good looking that you have to compare yourself to and get all insecure. Cheers for the chuckles.
  2. Must be his wand :nelson:
  3. rofl Ron bleedin Weasley!
  4. LOL yeah that's a bit much m8.
  5. I agree the Subaru build quality is nowhere near the Z. We are talking about different animals though. The Z was almost 30k when new? Back when 30k was proper money. I picked up a new STI-UK for just over £20k thanks to EU importing. The gearbox I'm not so sure about was it the 6 speed or the old 5 speed you drove? The STI UK is of course PPP but lets face it that’s just an emissions technicality. The PPP should have been on all the cars from the factory. I'm surprised you’ve driven an STI and think it’s over rated, maybe you didn't drive it fast enough in the bends :) To truly appreciate the epic handling you've got to be on the limit on the twisty stuff. I've been a Z owner for over 6 years now and it's easily the best all rounder I've ever owned. Cruising around with the roof off at 160mph with Rob Zombie barely audible on the stereo is fantastic. As automotive porn the Subaru is Jo Brand to the Z's Jo Guest. BUT as a drivers car the Z doesn't come close to the latest STI-UK PPP IMVHO. As for reliability.... lol forget about it  edit: Sorry for hijacking your thread Schumi_not! There's nothing like destroying your first performance car behind the wheel of your Z. Long may it continue! :hyper: I've done my share of STI UKs in the Z on the A66. They run out of puff long before my Z even thinks about breaking a sweat or another gearbox.
  6. I've got both, 1991 300ZX TT and 2007 Impreza STI-UK. I think the Subaru is a much, much better drive. Don't get me wrong after 100mph it's all over for the Subaru but on UK roads with UK weather the Subaru is my weapon of choice.
  7. Is this a trick question?
  8. LOL I love it! Want to see a scale F40 built on a mini now. How cool would that be if they kept all the proportions right....although thinking about it the roof would be about 8" off the floor!
  9. She's so purty :) I do like those Recaros!
  10. Welcome :) I'd echo everyone elses statements. Don't rush into buying one and have someone who knows what they're talking about to check it out for you. The Z is an amazing car but can be very expensive. My advice would be buying a good one and paying a few grand more could save you £1000's. Whilst they might look an attractive "cheap" car at the moment don't under estimate the running costs. If you're handy and can do most of the work yourself, then all well and good. If however you're a ham fisted numpty like myself and require garages and mechanics then you 'might' need deep pockets. Good luck in finding the right car :)

I know I know this doesn't belong in here but I thought the best way to get replies from the North East massive was to post in this forum. Perhaps this post could stay here for a couple of weeks and then be moved ot the main forum? :x When I bought my Z in 2001 I used a company called Falcon Engineering for all my servicing. Great company and Steve there really looked after my car but I found them to be very expensive. The last 'major' works I had carried out my SE Nisstek and if they were still around I would no doubt still be using them as PeteR was always a gent and had my car running well. So the big question is does anyone know of a garage in the north east that they trust with their car, doesn't generate invoices that look like they're in Yen instead of Sterling and are reliable? I know a guy who works for Nissan that's trained in the Z and thats great but I would like someone who can not only provide servicing but help me to develop the car a little more without having to travel hundreds of miles. Here's hoping someone's been keeping a real gem of a garage under their hat! Jonno.
  12. Chris, did you have to buy any new bolts for these wheels. I was told by prestine wheels in Milton Keynes that they are about £10 each!!! Which seems crackers. What torque settings did you use when you tightened the outer bolts up?
  13. Good looking scoob that. I have a new STI-UK in black on order. Your ad says new house forces reluctant sale. If cashflow is an issue the ZX aint for you :/ I'd keep the scooby :) More practical and drives better in the wet.
  14. Blimey, I too thought this was a new thread. Glad I read all the posts now. I've been frequenting the VX220 turbo forum of late as I had been looking at one (changed my mind now), but they recently had a fatality and it really puts driving these kind of cars into perspective. It's too easy to loose sight of the consequences when you've got the ZX's fat arse in a slide blatting down some badly lit road. Glad no one was hurt and lets hope no one on here ever is. Drive safe *cough*fast*cough*.
  15. Not that he needs any recommendation but I've got Smithys hybrids on mine and they have been fantastic. Spool up much quicker than my old stocks.
  16. Prolly wont see my Z as I'll be taking the wheels off it this weekend BUT you might see my black mitsubishi L200 warrior covered in shiney bars and lights. You cant miss it and it's frequently in Redcar as I live up the road in New Marske.
  17. This is my old Paintball site at Scotch Corner, which I sold last summer. The web page you've put up has a phone number for another company who operate in Darlington so if you want to play at Scotch Corner rather than Croft you need to ring Wendy on: 01642 730 888 / 07939 012135 or visit http://www.scotchcornerpaintballvillage.co.uk/ Tell them the previous owner, Jonathan, used to give you a discount for ZX club members and see if they'll do the same. Have a good day, it's a great site! :)
  18. Thanks for the advice. :)
  19. Ever since my car came back from Nisstek (R.I.P) the speedo has only worked as and when the mood takes it. In addition the readings on the speedo are always out, i.e would show 30 when you were actually doing 40 (very dangerous lol). The car had the engine rebuilt and a manual box conversion. Anyone like to stab a guess at what the problem could be? Jonno.
  20. Stick a pic of your car up, I'll probably have seen it around. The reason I asked about garages is mine could use a service but I'm reluctant to use a run of the mill garage for obvious reasons. It's always gone to Falcon or SE Nistek in the past. I'd do the work on the car myself but I'm not keen on the clown car look where the doors flap open and the wheels fall off. Jonno
  21. Guisbrough eh? I'm just down the road. Who do you get to work on your car? I would PM you but you've not subscribed  Jonno.
  22. No I'm not seeing any other problems just the gauge is obviously out.
  23. Since having my car converted from Auto to Manual I've noticed by Speedometer is out by about 20mph. In addition to this I now have a problem where the needle doesn't move at all and then bursts into life when it feels like it. Do I need to change the clock and once I have will I still have the 20mph error? It was suggested that when the gearbox is changed the speedometer needs to be changed. Anyone know if this is true or can anyone shed some light on a potential fix please? Thanks in advance. Jonno.
