  1. i would hazard a guess (already looked :) ) that it came from tt.net
  2. mwahahahahahahahaha now dont get me wrong, i'm not against any form of competition, but thats not what this is about payments from members has paid for this server and software to be the best available at the time, and will pay for bandwidth when we exceed our allocated limit. forums just do not run very well on free web space. if you think it is expensive or unreasonable to pay 20 quid towards keeping it here, then the only reasons i can think of for not wanting to pay would be because you are new here and have not fully appreciated the place yet, or because you mistrust me after all, i have only been a zed owner for 3.5 years, and owned the domain and run the forum with nico for 3 of those years... where's my commitment to the community ? how can you trust a fly by night like myself :D oh yeah.. almost forgot... i did not receive the spam mail...
  3. very good comparison here between about 8 or 9 different makes of performance tire in all conditions lower score = better in overall result
  4. very good article here which explains the pros and cons of each, for different types of car, and depending on power output discusses fwd v rwd v awd and breaks the explanation down into power bands. make sure you know which power band you are reading about before you comment on his theories ;) imho, very good though
  5. which/where depends on what you have already... larger brake disks either come 1 piece including hub, or 2 piece with bolt on rotor you need to find the make of the rotors you have, to make sure the new ones fit into the calipers properly (radius and thickness) warren has a source for skyline 1 piece disks, SE do 2 piece upgrades, i'm sure smithy can source disk rotors if you ask him...
  6. Timmy, gutted for you too, after all you've done but, i must say, i think i mine has been ok with me... in 3.5 years, had clutch, brake cylinder, battery and rad, and clutch is more "wear and tear" than the other stuff in a manual... and a few little minor things done 50k miles, and now at 150k, and still original turbos, engine and gearbox although, i do have a lot of little niggly problems, but i can ignore them when nothing major is wrong also, i previously had a sunny zx coupe, which i took to 140k miles, and sold to a friend. this is still going strong 3.5 years later, and was never any trouble, except for one coil pack breaking down. luck of the draw i guess..
  7. you want to be careful what tailpipes you have a nice screw on..
  8. if you reduce your mass enough to outrun a bullet, what would your 0-60 time be ?
  9. shame on you hairsy :D
  10. 11. Frank Lingua, president and CEO of Dissembling Associates, is the nation's leading purveyor of buzzwords, catch phrases and clichés for people too busy to speak in plain English. Business Finance contributing editor Dan Danbom interviewed Lingua in his New York City office: Danbom: Is being a cliché expert a full-time job? Lingua: Bottom line is I have a full plate 24/7. Danbom: Is it hard to keep up with the seemingly endless supply of clichés that spew from business? Lingua: Some days, I don't have the bandwidth. It's like drinking from a fire hydrant. Danbom: So it's difficult? Lingua: Harder than nailing Jell-O to the wall. Danbom: Where do most clichés come from? Lingua: Stakeholders push the envelope until it's outside the box. Danbom: How do you track them once they've been coined? Lingua: It's like herding cats. Danbom: Can you predict whether a phrase is going to become a cliché? Lingua: Yes. I skate to where the puck's going to be. Because if you aren't the lead dog, you're not providing a customer-centric proactive solution. Danbom: Give us a new buzzword that we'll be hearing ad nauseam. Lingua: "Enronitis" could be a next-generation player. Danbom: Do people understand your role as a cliché expert? Lingua: No, they can't get their arms around that. But they aren't incented to. Danbom: How do people know you're a cliché expert? Lingua: I walk the walk and talk the talk. Danbom: Did incomprehensibility come naturally to you? Lingua: I wasn't wired that way, but it became mission-critical as I strategically focused on my go-forward plan. Danbom: What did you do to develop this talent? Lingua: It's not rocket science. It's not brain surgery. When you drill down to the granular level, it's just basic blocking and tackling. Danbom: How do you know if you're successful in your work? Lingua: At the end of the day, it's all about robust, world-class language solutions. Danbom: How do you stay ahead of others in the buzzword industry? Lingua: Net-net, my value proposition is based on maximising synergies and being first to market with a leveraged, value-added deliverable. That's the opportunity space on a level playing field. Danbom: Does everyone in business eventually devolve into the sort of mindless drivel you spout? Lingua: If you walk like a duck and talk like a duck, you're a duck. They all drink the Kool-Aid. Danbom: Do you read "Dilbert" in the newspaper? Lingua: My knowledge base is deselective of fibre media. Danbom: Does that mean "no"? Lingua: Negative. Danbom: DOES THAT MEAN "NO"? Lingua: Let's take your issues off-line. Danbom: NO, WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE MY "ISSUES" OFF-LINE. Lingua: You have a result-driven mind-set that isn't a strategic fit with my game plan. Danbom: I WANT TO PUSH YOUR FACE IN. Lingua: Your call is very important to me. Danbom: How can you live with yourself? Lingua: I eat my own dog food. My vision is to monetise scalable supply chains. Danbom: When are you going to quit this? Lingua: I may eventually exit the business to pursue other career opportunities. Danbom: I hate you. Lingua: Take it and run with it...
  12. ok AndyP, kinace, i will get in touch with the guy in the week and see how long he wants.
  13. i would assume the efficiency has increased, as it will flow twice as much water across the core in the same time frame, and i think copper is a better heatsink than aluminium ? however, finding a better and cheaper alternative to the stock Nissan unit was more of a priority for me, and probably most others, so the efficiency figures are of no real consequence, imho the exponential increase in quality has caused a minor increase in mass
  14. the pipework shouldnt be that much longer, as the coolers should be around the same distance forward, you just need to make the pipework go to the middle of the car rather than the sides imho so the lag created by the extra pipework will be minimal, compared to any lag created by larger intercoolers ? although thats quite marginal too... :D imho again ;)
  15. here's the other pic maybe i should enable pics again... lol oh, by the way, here's the alternatives... Nissan supply new rad :- 270 + vat end tanks 40+vat and 38 + vat. one end tank in US, other in UK. If you can source end tanks, then MAC1 has a contact that can make a similar spec to mine, with original end tanks, but see him for price. Patent part listed in rad guys book is for Z31, even though listed as Z32, for 170+vat
  16. hiya, been away on holiday, and have had hectic time getting back into the forum swing :) am busy as hell at the moment, so forum mods will be a bit slow for a week or so. but, have to get this offer out to you all :D Before i start, i would like to give many many thanks to AndrewG for the 2 week loan of his driveway, and his help in the whole process of removing/replacing the radiator. cheers. Specs:- Stock rad is plastic tanks with aluminium single channel core Replacement is brass tanks and copper dual channel core This means that the new rad core is almost twice as thick as the old one, but the width and height remain the same, with all locating pins and shroud brackets in the correct places. It also retains the bleed screw in the non-capped end tank. The end tank thickness is almost the same, and just about fits into the stock retaining brackets at the top, which i asked him to make sure of, as they are also the bonnet stay brackets... If anyone has a spare one of these (AndyZ?) then i would like to send it so the guy has one permanently. Price is 170 quid each, plus delivery. Group buys need about 4 or 5 units, which he will turn around in as many days. For you "auto" guys, he can fit an oil cooler into the end tank if you want, for the same price i think, but i guess most of you have upgraded to external coolers by now... ;) I guess i should start the group buy forum up pretty quickly hey ? If you are interested, then i would like to collect the money from you so i know how many to order, and i'll hold onto it until they are finished. Have attached photo of the rad before fitting, and next post will have photo of it in situ including samco hoses, but no shroud. Any questions ? Any takers ? If i can make it to any of the next couple of local meets then i will (have rear slicks at the moment though :( ), but you are welcome to come visit if you want to see it first.
  17. 20 quid is a lot of money to quite a few of us tooley mate, but the money that people have sent has kept the forum here, rather than disappearing because i dont happen to work at an ISP anymore this is not a pay per view site that lines my pockets. never will be. its pay per view to keep it here and benefit all. period. i know how often you have given stuff away tooley, and i am sure the recipients appreciate it. i for one will be sad to see you go if you do
  18. heh... i only gave it up a few months ago :D [cps@cpsgw home]$ whois -h whois.nic.uk z32.co.uk [whois.nic.uk] Domain Name: z32.co.uk Registrant: jason anthony loxley how much did you pay for it jaylox ? i would have sold it to you if you'd asked ;)
  19. i know what you are saying guys, does seem a bit quiet... maybe if all the paid up members want to vote and change the format, then i will gladly do whatever you all want however, when it was "open" and anyone could post, and everyone was fighting.... i got sick of all the emails and msn's from people complaining about other people, what they said, what they did, being abusive and i got it from quite a few people... you cant have it all ways how do you want it ? i have been away this week, so not much chance to keep up on the forum, and the same again next week so why not open some voting and poll posts, in whatever area, and decide between you all how you want the site to go. bearing in mind, that quite a few people have contributed towards getting the site together onto a new platform i will check in on the results when i get back next week. ITS ALL UP TO YOU :)
  20. sorry guys, but i was sure you could read that section checking it out now OK, its done now. very sorry guys, was never intended.

  22. i have contacted a couple of companies and brokers who are looking into this. i think a couple of other people on the forum were doing this as well, but they have not posted any fedback from it. the last place i spoke to were very positive, and should be coming back to me soon.
  23. i recently adjusted the pixels to 100x100, to get a bit more clarity, but there is still a very small file size limit, so you have to put your image skills to good use :D once the board has been running for a few weeks, we can get some ideas about the bandwidth usage, and adjust avatars, signatures, and pics in posts in general to suit.
  24. in that case, you are one of the people that sent no details with the cheque, so i had to guess what your screen name was, or rather, did not guess. email me your details as asked for in the subscription mail please, and i can change your group membership
