even worse news than my last bad news!!!!
after my z passed its mot then borke down with a flat battery at the test centre, I charged the battery enough to get it home and all was going well (apart from the squeek from the belts) about 5 miles after leaving i noticed squeeking gettin worse and tempreture rising I pulled over by which time it was really hot, I let it cool, topped up the water and tried again no more than cople of miles further it was gettin very hot again, this time water was dripping from the bottom of the rad, I towed it home the rest of the way, I think the radiator must have had a weak spot cos now it leaks even just putting water in stationary, so i am sending it away to me looked at, the altenator / water pump belt was shredded, so I put another i have got on and just started her, when i rev it the other belts speed up but not that one, and it stinks of burning rubber, altenator and water pump turn freely, so it is possible I have lined pullys up wrong?, have i missed any spacers off the water pump pully when i put it back together, Please please please help this is doing my head right in. Thanks, and sorry for the essay, lol

HICAS inner ball joints - STILL FAIL MOT!!!!!!
hi all, still failed mot, I have replaced outer hicas ball joints and the wheels still wobble about, tester recomends inner hicas ball joints next as these seem to be where most of the play is, can anyone give me a quick guide on how to fit them, the outer ones were easy how come i am worried about the inner ones, the new bits will be here in the morning and I am very eager to get her finished, I just hope and pray that bottom ball joints and shocker bushes are ok cos tester said he could see slight play in them too. Thank in anticipation of help Brian

Where does this go!! Please Please Help if you can
Hi all and i hope you can help me, this is doing my head in, finally plumbed the engine and found out where all the hoses go but one, right here goes, there are vac pipes connect to the waste gates and boost solenoids above, this then comes round the front of each side of the engine, according to the manual these should then connect to the "boost gallery" and the "boost sensor" which should be somewhere under the air filter panel , mine are just connected in front of engine by vac hose, it has a hose tee'ed off this which looks like it has a boost jet crimped into the end, have no idea where this goes, and dosent it need the boost galley and sensor (which i cant find for the life of me) can some one please please please tell me what's PO has likley done? and how to find the bits. Thanks Brian

Quick help please.
Hi, i am putting the last few bits back on my engine (hoses etc.) before it goes back in the car, i have had it out to do the turbos, now my question is that the vac pipes from the wategates go into the plumming which runs round the engine however not far above the tubs is a small solenoid which has a vac pipe from the big pipe going to the turbos, now there is a pipe joined into the wastegate vac pipes that is obviously supposed to go to the other side of the solenoid, the PO has removed them and bunged them up with bolts, any ideas why he would do this??, would this account for my turbo shaft snapping in half? and how would i test the solenoids work before i put the engine back, they look a horrible job to do after!!! is it just 12v to the pins and listen for a click? are they likley to go faulty? phew!! thanks in advance!!

Insurance Valuation, any ideas
thought that when i spent 2k restoring a landrover for my brother, i recon it was worth at least 3.5k the most they would pay was 1k when it was stolen from outside his house, was gutted, and that was stock just like brand new, so i just wanted to make sure i was at least gonna get my money back.
-
Insurance Valuation, any ideas
lol, maybe so, well the PO said there were no mods fitted ;-) so i said its stock!!

Insurance Valuation, any ideas
no problem it was with Lynbrook insurance, its for me and mrs to drive, we are both 39 she has 3 points (speeding) and i had my loverly new saab vector sport pinched from our house 3 months ago (B*****DS!!!) had to agree to lock it in the garage at night but the quote was for max 4000 miles, fully comp, no claims not relevant as its classed as a specialist/classic, legal insurance included, breakdown insurance cover and agreed value of 4k, the premium for this was £325 which i thought was damn good!!
-
Insurance Valuation, any ideas
hey all, I have tracked down reasonable insurance but they want a valuation i said about 4k (well hope it will when its done) but they need a varification of this, any ideas anyone? Thanks
