  1. My car has 110k up it now, running 15psi, mines ecu and decat exhaust. 18 months on the clutch is begining to slip. Should I replace it with a stock clutch or have an Exedy one? By having the Exedy one will it cause more stress on things like the hydraulic clutch fluid and its joints etc? Thanks guys, Dan

  3. Blind Date was my favourite, I used to watch it when I was about 6 or 7 when my dad had a Z31, Think thats what got me into Z`s!
  4. Havnt used my zed for a couple of weeks, and yesterday decided to take it for a little drive. After about 6 miles of steady driving I stopped the car and was talking to a mate. After about 7 or 8 minutes I noticed the offside exhaust started to very lightly blow blue smoke out. I switched the engine off after that. Drove it home and let it idle at home to see if it did it again, however,it didnt. Whats caused it to do it in the first place? Are my turbos on their way out? Cheers guys, Dan
  5. Was stopped at the traffic lights last night when all of a sudden the car shook and smoke began to rise out from under the bonnet. I switched the engine off, opened the bonnet only to find an injector on my 6cyl Mercedes S320cdi had shot 6" out the top of the engine. Firstly, what can cause this to happen? And what work is involved in having it repaired as it was recovered back to Mercedes main dealer at 4am this morning & am begining to get fed of spending money there. Thanks guys, Dan

  7. Someone has mentioned to me tonight that what I am seeing is orange peal caused by a poor preperation for my respray 18 months ago. Does the same method of restoration you guys have already mentioned still apply to this "orange peel" effect?
  8. My UK 1992 tt Z is running 15psi, induction kit, decat exhaust and a Mines ecu. The stock clutch is now slipping when it begins to come on boost in 3rd and 4th. Whats the best clutch to go for, also is there anybody here local to Stoke on Trent that can do it for me? Perhaps just after the new year... Also whats the going rate for a clutch change in a Zed? I had a full respray on my white 300ZX 18 months ago, however, just recently the paint in certain areas has gone very rough and looks almost as though it has has a fine layer of frozen water on it. I Have washed and dried the whole car and concentrated on the affected areas with a bodyshop friendly paint cleaner but it has made no difference. What has caused this? Is the paint knackered? Is there anything I can do to prevent further paint deteriation? Can I have the paint flattened back to how it was or does it need another full hit? Cheers guys, Dan

  11. Lol, i was just answering ur question in ur first post about most comfiest seats av sat in, although you could have the seats from an SL, they are the same, except with more lumber support, and tilt forward for rear access...no massage tho :(
  12. what about the Mercedes S class seat? Very comfy, two heat settings, two cooling settings, vibrate/massage settings as well as electrical adjustable backward/forward, up/down, tilt, electric headrest and even air filled adjustable lumbar supports...& you can pick these cars up now on a 2001 for less than 10k

  15. hmmm, hope not, as I have those 99` spec led rear lights and they are wired up completely different. If thats the way though I will have to wire them to my number plate lights
  16. My new rear centre light panel arrived today. Its the standard Nissan one that lights up green. There is about one metre of cable with two huge block connectors at the end (1 female & 1 male) I presume these bridge some connection somewhere, correct? Where do I plug them into? Cheers, Dan
  17. Thanks for all your help guys, basically what you are saying is its the turbo blades that are taking the stress when I hear this noise... Do you think if I somehow had the boost pressure decreased it would help...?
  18. It only does it sometimes, and there is no pattern (i.e cold weather etc) Mercedes Benz have had the turbo apart and said it is as new with no wear, and there are no boost leaks... The sound itself does NOT bother me, Im just concerned as to whether or not it is going to damage something...
  19. So, if i was to say my Mercedes Turbo Diesel was sometimes (not all the time) making this noise "wastegate chatter"... what would that point to? It is a completely standard car...
  20. I have a UK tt Z and I havnt started it up for nearly a week now, it has the correct amount of antifreeze in it and starts and runs perfectly all the time. However, I still dont plan on using it while this cold spell is here and who knows how long it is going to last. So, what am I best doing? Leaving it alone? Or Starting it up and letting it reach temperature? If I do am I best waiting for the weather to thaw out or am I best starting it asap? Its the belts I am mainly concerned about, dont want the cold to crack them... what do you guys recommend? Cheers, Dan

  23. I have a 2001 Mercedes S320L cdi, and sometimes when i take my foot off the accelerator there is a wastegate chatter noise. The car dosnt always do it and only seems to when its boosting high or when the engine is hot. My Mercedes Benz dealer have replaced two hoses on the intercooler, two leaky injectors, and repaired a blow on the exhaust next to the turbo. However, the noise is still there. They said they will investigate it further on Monday. Does anybody here have any ideas as to what it could be? And most importantly, whether or not you think it may cause damage to anything.   24. I think the time has come to change the cambelt / timing belt on my tt Z. Im in Stoke on Trent and dont mind travelling to have this done. Anybody got anywhere in mind they can recommend, with a rough idea of cost too. Cheers fellow zedeers, Dan
