Tonight I am going to see Mark Knopfler live at the Manchester Arena... Has anybody else seen him live before?

My Z has got a misfire at around 2000-3000rpm, it runs really rough and sometimes I have to put my foot right down to get it to pull through. after about 3000-3500rpm it springs back into life and runs really smooth again... I have noticed it is using more fuel than usual, there is a hell of a lot of black up the back of the car & when the revs are held to make it misfire the nearside exhaust seems to shake and splutter as though thats the side its coming from. Also, it only normaly does it when it is warm. Cheers guys, Dan

I have a 2004 manual Saab 9-5 HOT Aero. Its done 127000 miles and drives perfect. However, every so often the boost gets hesitant and will only boost to safety (mid yellow on factory boost gauge). When it did it tonight I immediatly pulled over switched engine off, whipped ecu fuse out for a second then put it back, started it back up, drove away and its been fine all night again. I dont get any lights on the dash, also its been recently serviced with new plugs and coil pack, also new recirc valve, air filter and turbo... Any ideas guys, Saab main dealer is running out of ideas... Thanks, Dan

I have a 2003 Saab 9-5 HOT Aero (2.3 turbocharged petrol 250bhp), it has done 124000 miles and runs absolutly perfect. However, when I start it up first thing in the morning there is a cloud of blue smoke that comes out the exhaust. After about 30 seconds it clears and then there will be no smoke at all for the rest of the day. Any ideas as to what it could be? I thought maybe the turbocharger, but its only on startup...? Also, maybe the valve stem seals... so is a head rebuild needed? What order am I best going about sorting it out... Thanks guys, Dan

No no its all over :-( the thing is though it dosnt bother me whilst its like that over winter as the car isnt used, just could do with knowing how to remove it for summer like I had done before, the respray was done by a friend of a friend and cost £690 for the entire car, I knew all along it wouldnt be mint, but the daft part about it, it is mint!! except for these bloody pimples :-(

In summer 2008 I had a full respray on my car, during the winter of 2008/09 the car came out in tiny blisters all over, I took it back to the paint shop and when it came back the blisters had gone, I asked what they had done to it and said it had just been in the oven. Anyway, I was happy because my car was how it should be again... However, tonight I went to wash my car again and its come out in all these tiny blisters again... I understand it may be poor prep and moisture trapped beneath the lacquer but how can I remove them? Is it a case of putting it back in the oven, or having it repainted? thanks, Dan

I have my Z booked in to have some work done later this month, i am not running it as usual because I think the engine may be dying, anyway, is it best to just leave it until I have to take it, or is it best to start it up once in a while - although I have heard this can cause head gasket failures ... ?? I know Mitsubishi had always used to use the same bodyshell for the Evolution cars, but is this still true for the current Evos does anybody know? They all seem to be extremely different from normal Lancers but find it difficult to understand why they would use a different shell for a car still called a Lancer... cheers guys, Dan

The other night my dad had to brake hard in his 2004 Mercedes S320cdi, as he did both our seat belts tightened up to hold us into the seat, once he had stopped, and went to drive away the belts loosened and all was fine again. Is this a belt pretensioner? Because, I always thought a belt pretensioner was the device that stopped it snatching forward if you pull on it hard... Thanks, Dan

Cheers guys, was planning on lowering and a 99 spec bumper before christmas, however got a slight problem with blue smoke now, so that obviously has to come first :-)

As this is weekend is probably the last nice one we`ll have this year I thought Ide polish the Z and take a few pics, open to suggestions and comments :-)

yea it is going to Zedworld to be looked at soon, not actually buying the track car was just seeing what we could each come up with, all are good ideas there guys, thanks, also Ive found a e36 328i with a manual box for £1200

Mines white with a high gloss black roof, Just gives it that modern touch I think

the purpose is to not actually buy it but to see what we can each come up with, no point buying a new engine until the old one dies

Tonight, I used the car again as normal, this time the dipstick hasnt popped out, does this mean it is most probably a freak occurance, or could it still mean the start of a headache?

Me and my friends have set ourselves a little task. We, by tomorow night have got to find a car for sale in the UK, up to the value of £1500 that has to be taxed and tested and able to hold out for a day of thrashing round a track. Im going to get trawling the trader and pistonheads now, but do you guys have any ideas?

when you say a drop in pressure i assume you mean as soon as the stick pops out? If there is no dramatic pressure drop though what does it mean?

After a short journey home tonight, about 10 miles and only a maximum of 6000rpm on two occasions on low boost, I noticed when I got home there was smoke coming from the engine, lifted the bonnet and there was oil everywhere. the dipstick had popped 2" out, spraying oil everywhere. Its never done this before, whats caused it? Thanks, Dan
