  1. Hi all. Many moons since I visited the site so hello to all the old and new members. I sadley sold my Z last year after 15 year of ownership and trying to help the new owner with some issues. When I had the car the PTU connectors all rusted out, so I replaced the OEM plugs with individual spade clips(was a cheep fix at the time and lasted 10 years). He has replaced the PTU now but still not working, I suspect he may have connected the wires up wrong as the oem plugs are gone. Does anyone have a photo or know which colour wires go on which pins. Cheers
  2. Hopefully you got my email, cheers
  3. my z is the most reliable car I've ever owned. 11 years of ownership and never let me down, just always look after her and kept well maintained. hopefully you get a few more years with no further break downs. Andy
  4. Very good thanks, Life in Canada is pretty decent and much better since we moved to Ottawa, great city, thats for sure.
  5. Hello Zerocooldel. Not been on the forum for a long time. email still the same, andy_mclean300@yahoo.co.uk hopefully I can be of help. I have actually just moved from western Canada over to the Ottawa on the east. Still loving it and still have the Z. Andy
  6. First of all, certainly a very long time since my last post, so hello to all the old school members I'm currently looking about for some 99 spec rear lights and came across lots of these chinese knock off copies for very cheap money( not sure if they have been reveiwed here before, cant find anything in the search), all they require are the thin black lines to fully emulate the originals. Has anyone bought these and perhaps know of their quality? Cheers Andy http://cgi.ebay.ca/1990-1996-96-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-RED-CLEAR-JDM-TAIL-LIGHTS_W0QQitemZ150435895413QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2306ad9875
  7. well, I though I had managed it through the fork hole, managed to unscrew the old pivot pin with a couple different angled 17mm spanners. Got the new one back in but unfortunaty I dont seem to be able to get the fork back on its lugs, tried a few different ways but no joy. so bloody close too. Just like most jobs with the 300. Always got to take the long way round, I think nissan could defitly done a better job with considering after sales service. The Z is deffinitly not in my good books right now, have to remove all the exhausts, propshaft, linkages, mounts and box just to change a bloody pin. NOT HAPPY!
  8. I would not suggest cutting into the grearbox bell housing, he should really remove the box If he has to. Will start mine a bit later although will try to get the pin out through the hole, looks bloody tight though!
  9. Hi All, long time since I've posted and hope all are well! Unfortunatly my Pivot ball on the clutch fork has snapped and I'm wondering If anyone has succesfully managed to change it without removing the gearbox? It's clearly visible through the hole where the fork arm sticks out, I'm wondering if once the slave Cylinder is removed and fork pulled back if its achievable? I really cant be assed to remove the gearbox tomorrow! Cheers Andy
  10. Hi Si, not recieved an e mail, there is an underscore between my two names which you cant see above. Cheers Andy

  12. Still alive and kicking. Time fly's by Si, it's four years since I moved out here now, although it was last year the Z came out. Still loving it though, great life out here to be honest! Still miss the UK though and it's always great to back once in a while. I still have the Z but it's basically the same as before, I was planning on a few more mods but hard to justify, as unfortunatly she rarely gets used these days. I think I wash it more than I drive it. Family life seems to take up any spare time these days. It's only the odd sunday I go out with the missus for a drive. I also have a company Ford F250 pick up now which I tend to use all the time as work supply the fuel. I actully been thinking about selling the car recently as Z prices out here are still pretty strong. I hate to say it but I think and Audi S4 would be far more practical now I have a baby on the way. Have to see, If I get a good offer I will sell but it will be a sad day for sure. Here are a few pics I've take recently
  13. Great work, I used to do alot of car art, very rewarding especially If you do them for other members. Wish I had more time to draw but family life seems to be so busy these days. Rarely even use the Z. Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing some more.
  14. Hello there, I have shipped several cars to Canada from the UK with Wallenius lines. Exceptional service from southampton to various eastern sea ports in north America I'm pretty sure the US has different importation laws to Canada though. In Canada a car has to be 15 years old before it is elegable for importation and I'm pretty sure in the US its now 25 years of age!! They are trying to cut down on imports to increase domestic car sales and it looks like Canada will follow suit. Check the US govenment sites but I dont think you will be able to take it. Andy
  15. If the product is made in north america there is no duty. Otherwise it's 6.1%
  16. Indeed. were not talking much but instead of spending time expanding those old hoses and making up for small leaks the energy is better used for a quicker responce. I deffo noticed it. I remember seeing the car on the dyno with the old stock hoses. It's surprising how much they expand by under full boost. Andy
  17. Silocone hoses will be fine at 1 bar and your stock hoses may well be good for the job. I just remember after I installed the first boost upgrade I ended up with several frustrating boost leaks. I picked some hard pipes cheap on Ebay plus did all the small vacuum/boost lines throughout. Surprising but makes a difference with the initial ramp time of the boost aswell.
  18. Stock power is still pretty lively but once you add that chip and 1 bar of boost your Z will be transformed. I took me a couple years of ownership before I got to that stage and I couldnt believe the difference. I strongly recomend uprating your stock turbo pipes at the same time for some hard pipes. The stock ones will soon fail if there original. Andy
  19. Man those things are awesome. Would ba an absolute highlight to see her at some air shows. I used to see them all the time at RAF St Mawgan in Cornwall as a kid. All they need to now is get a Concord back in the air!!
  20. Landy's are pretty much non existent out here, A handfull were imorted back in the days of the series 2 and then got banned because they failed North american crash standards. Landrover got round this in the 90's by fitting full integral roll cages although they were later banned again for another reason. Very desirable vehicles over here so prices are crazy. I'll be picking one up from the UK on one of my visits back. Lots to choose from and If I cant find a TDI i'll just find a tidy NA and source the 200TDI lump like you did. Looking forward to owning one again. I like the sound of the snorkel BTW. Andy
  21. How is life with the Landy? I'm still on the look out for a decent yet cheep 200TDI Anything to report? Hows the MPG etc?
  22. Cheers, It's been a couple years since I've lived in Plymouth although I'm back pretty frequently. I dont ever recall seeing your Z though. How long have you had it?? You must have seen the Yellow Stroset wide ass Z in Plymouth. A mate of mine owns it, had it since almost new. Dam sweet car with about ₤45k into it, but he has no interest in clubs or meets sadley.
  23. I also remember that chopper in your sig. I have tons of pics of my car up by Hovercam, one of the best views in the world!!!
  24. I remember the days of driving round plymouth as a young hooligan. Best kill ever was smoking a ferrari F355 on the slip road off marsh mills roundabout on the way to Plympton. Happy days, lol
