I think you can do a system restore from the bios (pressing f2 or similar at start up)just restor it to a time before he got the spyware

i've got 2 samsung's one's plasma and the others LCD, the plasma is 50" love it and would buy another but the built in speakers are crap and give you vibration/feedback but i've got a dolby digital surround soud setup to it doesn't bother me so you should be ok with the 5.1.
