  1. it sounds like the wheels have been static balanced instead of dynamically balanced, i.e. the lazy way. some of the tyre fitters where I work do it because basically they cant be ****ed to do it properly. static balancing is adding weight to the lightest part of the wheel so there is no up or down vibration but this technique doesnt balance the side to side vibration dynamic balancing is balancing both sides of the wheel which can be a faff on as you have to use stick on weights so you have to clean the area the weight needs to stick to, whoever has fitted the tyres couldnt be bothered to do this so has hammered a load of weights on the inside edge of the rim where they cant be seen.
  2. for helping me get a second job to earn pocket money for my rebuild :hyper: only delivering take-aways over the weekend but it pays well, I made over 200quid on my first weekend! :hyper: john your a legend mate, cheers :duffer:
  3. I dont use a guard so I dont need to worry about that but I'm sure mine is slowly frying me because whenever I use it I get a metallic taste in my mouth lol
  4. I would love that! how much was it?!
  5. really makes me want to win the bid then kick their f***in heads in,idiots.
  6. I wouldn't push those tyres too hard, prone to cracking, the place where I work sell them as a mid-range tyre but IMO they're crap, no offence but there are certain things I wouldn't risk trying to save a few quid on.
  7. ferraris havnt got that much torque compared to bhp from what i read after sitting behind a 360 modena hitting the limiter to try and lose me (got the vid on me fone to prove!) I had a play with a tvr tuscan once but he backed off when he realised I was still there, also had a good run with a carrera 4 "S" which I edged away then after I slowed down and pulled onto the slip road he flew past and cut me up, says it all really.
  8. I swear by goodyear eagle f1 gsd3's, excellent grip dry or wet and last for ages if you aren't nailing the car every day, had toyo proxes and they wear out too quick, never tried falken 452's yet (on the rear) but hear good things about them
  9. and wheres me thanx for coming round yours at half 12 in the morning to help you lift the box into the back of your 106 beast and getting covered in auto-box oil in the process!!   a suppose you did offer me a free pizza like, aye al get the wheels off when i get a chance mate
  10. most exhaust places should be able to heat it and re-align it
  11.
  12. I need to get some cash together to either get my bottom end rebuilt or source a good second hand lump and I've been offered £400 plus some chromed j-spec wheels in unmarked condition, its very tempting but it depends how much I can get for them, I also have a set of uk-spec wheels with almost new eagle f1's one the fronts the rears have loads of tread but only budget tyres, would these be worth more with them having the wider rears? they arent buckled but arent in the best condition, I was planning on keeping the uk-spec rims just for the wider rears as I was going to get sum proxes r888's to use on the strip but if they're worth more than the chromed j-spec wheels then they will have to go, HEEEEEELLLLLLLP!!!!
  13. am not quite sure what to say mate am crap with words but like everyone has said don't feel bad about posting this everybody has problems and the best thing to do is get it off your chest, with him being so young its hard to take in I can only imagine what the poor lad,you and your family are going through, a freind of mine who I went to school with had cancer when he was around 8 or 9 and he has huge scars an his stomach from operations but now he's 24 and he's fine. I'm not sure how possible this could be made but couldn't somebody organise a meet on a track day or something and all the zeds do a lap with him sat right at the front? am sure when I was 9 nothing would have mattered at that point!
  14. my car past its test last month even without an advisory sheet but then again mines up on a lift every other weekend because am a mechanic and I'm a complete fanny with it, my lass MOT'd it like so she went through it with a fine tooth comb because she knows once those roads are empty that pedals through the floor! .....and before anybody thinks it "a lass mechanic? she must be a monster!" have a spy for yourself lol http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=747314766
