  1. I used to watch loads of Zs go on Ebay when I was looking for one and the good ones seem to shoot up in price in the last couple of hours. Pitty it's not a proper sale, you could argue a discount for that steering wheel  (just joking if anyone has one of those, ) Why not ask him to mail you some close ups of the body kit fitting and any faults he admits to.
  2. Right. Tested the car again today and it's working great. Boosting to about 12 PSI and excellerating better than ever. It actually feels like I wanted it to now...Very confused, pleased but very confused. Oh well, if it aint broke don't fix it. Does anyone have any ideas what was wrong yesterday though that corrected itself today ??
  3. It seems good. Was reading about 9 or 10 psi flat out before I fitted the jets and did the timing. I'm going to do a ECU check in the morning and see what it comes up with, I'll post the results up here. Cheers.
  4. Running a chip from Andy P. Mapped for filter, straight through zorst and more boost but still have a standard zorst on it at present. Also advanced the timing by about 1 degree. Not getting any back-firing or anything else odd, no warning lights, seems like nothings wrong but no boost over around 7 PSI. I like the resistor idea, is there a link to the mod anywhere M8 ? Found one now..
  5. Just fitted boost jets (1mm) but not getting any extra boost :( . I fitted them to the pipes that go into the boost pipes closest to the radiator, is that right. Still getting around 7 PSI. As an after thought, could it be running on safety boost ?? I've just re-checked th ejet fitting guide and sure that I have them in the right place..
  6. Follow the cable for the bonnet opener and see if it'll fit through there, you'll have to cut the rubber a bit. Failing that, There's a wafer thin plate behind the brake peddle (on auto) that you'll easily be able to drill through. Both easy to access from either side (if a bit tight). :)
  7. Cheers. It is wired to the ECU, pin 55 and pin 29 switchable. The idea was to use the gauge to get a reading while setting up the fueling for advanced ingition timing and using a APEXi AFC but it's prety useless. Also the AFC I have seems dead too, it's been in storage for ages. Should it light up when connected and ingition is on ? Mine doesn't and the car just splutters and dies when the AFC is connected to the ECU (at pin 26 I think) ??? Runs fine when I disconnect the AFC.
  8. I've heard that they work better with a wideband sensor but would that cause the eratic readings (from left AND right feeds) ??
  9. Right, I just set up a Air Fuel Gauge, it is fine on idle with the reading slowly going from lean to rich as the engine warms up. However, when driving the reading is VERY eratic, jumping from lean to rich and back again constantly. Does anyone know why this is as it's getting anoying. Thanks.
  10. Thread deleted, think I had the pin diagram print out upside down. lol.
  11. Sorted at last. Lots of twisting and bending (and undoing the 2 bolts under the front bit, :mac1: ).
  12. Ok, How do I get this dam thing out then ??  :headvswal
  13. are you willing to take that chance , if you want to flush the engine out do an oil change with some cheap oil run it until warm empty it out then put some good oil in , will probably have the same effect with out the possible downsides Ryan Cheers... Think I like the sound of the cheap oil "flush" better. Got to be worth a go..
  14. Firstly, not saying your wrong M8, just don't want to use it if it's dodgy. It was recomended by M8 with ZX and local mechanic who's into big American cars.. Think it was because I have a "Lazy Lifter" . Well I got a bit of tappet noise anyway.
  15. Why's engine flush a No No ?? It's been recomended to me and I bought a bottle, (yet to use it though)
  16. I used to have a S13 and it was quicker off the mark than my 300 TT Auto Import. But, I did a lot to the SX to get it that way (including new engine, FMIC, Bigger Tubby and 17 PSI boost. Blew up the first engine, :mac1: ). My TT is prety standard at the moment so may be being a bit unfair on the Z. Insurance was cheaper on the SX for me but not by a mad amount ( About £250 TPFT on the SX and £380 Comp' on the Z) if I remember right with the SX. I lost the back end a couple of times when getting used to the SX and did the same again getting used to the Z (some people never learn. lol). But I don't reckon one is worse than the other in that respect. The Z does turn heads but so did my bright purple SX with Mongoose fitted and the Blitz SS DV, :D . IMO the Z is a step up from the SX in quite a few ways and even though I realy liked the S13 I wouldn't go back from the Z to one. Parts are cheaper for the S13, easily so, and if you want something to throw around I'd say the S13 is a excellent choice. M8 of mine changed his S13 for a Z TT auto about the same time as me and he says prety much the same re' performance etc. Oh, I was pleasently suprised at the TT auto box, the best auto I've driven easily and seems quicker than my M8s R33 Skyline Auto. Hope this helps.
  17. I use one most of the time. 1 bottle to £45 of 97RON since local garage stopped doing Optimax. Seems about the same performance (as Optimax) but I reckon better fuel consumption. Works out slightly cheaper than Optimax by about a £ per full tank...
  18. How dificult is it to fit a new window in the passenger door ? Are there any detailed instructions anywhere around ?? Anyone in Plymouth that's done it b4 ??? All help greatfully recieved. :D
  19. Does anyone know if my car had a NATS alarm fitted as standard ?? It's a import 2+2 TT auot. K plate 92 car. It has some sort of alarm fitted but it doesn't work and I don't know what it is. I'm told that I can't fit a Diferent CAT 1 alarm system if I have a NATS fitted due to something to do with the ECU...Realy need advice on this ASAP, car was broken into the other day and was wanting to get it properly alarmed right away. Thanks. Phil.
  20. Cheers M8. Was thinking of making one but the pic is exactly what I was looking for. ;)
  21. Has anyone made thier own twin filter induction piping ? I would imagine that a single pipe will go to the MAF then split into two to take the filters ?? Any pic's or advice apreciated thanks. :hyper:
  22. Hello. I'm changing the oil in my TT auto next week and been told to try this "engine cleaner" stuff ?? Has anyone used this or heard anything about it ? Also the car has a lazy lifter so planning to use SAE 5-50 if I can actually find any, does this sound right plz? Thanks.
  23. Nice one, thanks. That's exactly what I'm looking for. :D
  24. Can anyone tell me where the loom comes into the car (From engine bay to cockpit if you know what I Mean). Thanks. Phil.
  25. Doesn't sound too bad, think I'll have a look tomorrow.
