  1. Ask John300zx for help with this bit, i couldn't get mine off because the pipe was rock hard and then ran into other troubles
  2. yep, but usually you have to order them in because they only fit the 300zx tt
  3. these idle problems are a pain in the arse as they can be one in a million things or even more. The idle problem when warm says to me its related to either the 'Air regulator' or 'Idle air control valve' both connected to each other at the back of the engine near the battery. The air regulator acts as a automatic choke so may be your best place to start.
  4. oh, so you reply in post 38 wasn't a reply to his question in post 37?
  5. yes you did, read post 37 from taff, it clearly states
  6. I bought a NGK PFR6B-11 this morning from Macclesfield AutoFactor so yes they are available, as i said before they also fit the ford and subaru. and its definately the same plug. The ones that you cannot get of the shelf are the PFR6B-11B plugs (TT Colder type)
  7. Ok, this is going to sound odd, All injectors are working and putting fuel in the cylinders I now have no spark! There may have some confussion in my own head as to what works when but it now looks like the ptu?
  8. right, im baffled, ive removed the Ptu and cleaned up the connections and got no change, Ive removed the spark plug that ive jus put in and its bone dry so it looks like no fuel is getting through. Im waiting on my lady to come home from the shops so i can buy a tester. But my main question now is, how on earth do i remove the metal pin rom the CAS connection without dropping it? EDIT-Spoke too soon, i dropped it
  9. cannot drive it anyway! what a pain in the arse. Only started with a high idle one day
  10. damn it, ill have to go buy one.
  11. OK, ive installed a new plug and the car was still running on 5 cylinders, I turned it off and now it wont start at all, its turning over but no firing. I can hear the fuel pump working Anybody help?
  12. well in that case get out the cross and holy water because your in for a long night
  13. sometimes the buttons stick mate, you will have knocked it getting out. I remmember reaching for the controls which are now located at the front of my seat and got the forward movement stuck wilst on the motorway. the seat started sliding forward and shoving me up against the wheel. I honestly was crapping myself trying to find the switch lol
  14. no & no But i do know that im getting a clicking from all the injectors and if i connect a coil pack to the connector and working sparkplug ontop of the engine im still getting a spark. by broken i mean that the connector still seats correctly but is missing a bit of plastic. To be honest running on 5 cylinders is a new thing, its had a missfire for a week or two now so it could yet be a seperate issue
  15. yeah, its booked in to zworld in a few weeks but cant stop thinking about it. ill pick up a plug after work so ill know for definate tomorrow.
  16. My car is having missfiring issues which some of you would have read about recently and ive narrowed it down to cylinder number one not firing. (Running on 5 cylinders) Note:The connector on number one is the only broken connector. (still seats ok) All injectors are clicking All coilpacks are working All Coilpack connectors are working So i fiqured that it must be the spark plug, so i removed the plug and its covered in black powder (Overfueling) which says again that its not sparking But its only just dawned on me... Its dry... Does that matter? EDIT- CAR NO LONGER STARTS! Ive installed a new spark plug in cylinder one (same type) and it made no difference to the car running when i connected it up, i turned it off and then on again and it will no longer start. It has a new battery and the fuel pump is priming It is turning over but will not fire (no fuel) All injectors are clicking Ive cleaned the PTU connections (series 1) Ive cleaned the CAS connection There is a lot of black fuel marks on the road behind the car (possibly from 5 cylinder problem) Ive removed the new plug and it is dry
  17. maf doesn't put it in safe mode, but will stop it going above ?? rpm and will generally drive like crap and struggle with hills and such.
  18. as above, i did this with a towel several times no an early xbox, but because it didn't last long before doing it again i just left the towel on it wilst running, it was fine. I have an elite now and didn't realise you can still get it on these
  19. yeah good news bud, your face is popping up alot around here now so we will all help if we can bud
  20. thats what it says, but like jeff said earlier, jap cars were standard with PFR6B-11's and this article is from a new zealand forum
