  1. EGR - AIV, same thing except one blows hot air to heat the cats, the other blows cool air to make them work better Tomato, TOMATO
  2. You can buy weld on flanges that the sensors can simply be screwed into. any custom exhaust supplier should be able to fit them. But that looks to me like the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system. Small laptop screen so its hard to make out.
  3. put my hand in the auxillery fan and broke my thumb, nasty gash to hours to stop bleeding. There is a thread on here somewhere.
  4. stiffening the suspension will do a hell of a lot more than you think, it also has adverse effects, your brakes wont seem as sharp and forever bouncy
  5. stellaz, we all know you are selling your car mate, calm down. p.s it was the power your car is putting out with such subtle mods thats making me look for one. lol
  6. please can somebody point me in the direction of some?
  7. yeah, leave the battery off tonight and it will remove the codes, then start it/drive it and if you get a code after then its a fresh one
  8. got to be honest with you, i find gunk isn't very good. ive used it a few times and the results were always poor. I think i need some tuition how to use it right.
  9. sounds like its just running rich to me. is it running on all 6 cylinders?
  10. i remember when mine did this my alternater belt did squeel so i had it tightened and it still had trouble starting. Still think its the engine temp plug :)
  11. the problem with that being, once you find a set you are happy with you wont swap to a different brand
  12. funny, i was reading it as oil spitting from the dipstick. wierd
  13. if you need something that works straight away dont go for the redstuff. Maybe look into mintex extreme
  14. its a shame some of the regulars dont seem to be around as they could diagnose things like this in a second
  15. not normally no but anythings possible. However i do recommend checking the ecu plug as i have seen all sorts of crazy things happen because of that bugger.
  16. The reason i say it is that when they become faulty they do the exact problem yours seems to be suffering from.
  17. check the castrol website, usually the same
  18. poop, so long as it can make it too zworld on friday ill be happy. Unless i need a new flywheel, then ill be really sad. Still, better to have one whilst i have to reddies eh?
  19. Maz, check all the fuel lines are not leaking and all the coilpacks are working. Also check the ecu connection is not too loose and not too tight. But i still think its the engine temp sensor.
  20. My tapping guess is its not behind the dash but the engine itself, probably the lifters sticking, an oil change usually fixes that. Remove the throttle cover and check all the fuel pipes especially the one at the bottom right under the throttle linkage. (easier to spot with the engine running as it will spray petrol out)
  21. question: The car now slips in fifth, could this be related or is it more likely that the clutch has gone?
  22. Imported cars generally havn't been subjected to the uk's salty roads. So if theory the later the car was imported the less rust it will have. But some zeds have been properly under seeled by their owners anyway so this isn't always an issue
