  1. well take it to a professional garage who know about these cars. End of the day its a sophisticated sports car, not your average joe escort, so you'll need some technical expertise looking at them. See the traders sections. Alot of cars are cheap to buy, only some are cheap to own!
  2. wasnt me... mines Grey. bwhahahaha
  3. is the peddle very stiff or does it sink straight to the floor? If you pump the peddle does the braking power improve? Did you look for any fluid loss under the car?
  4. what the hell are you talking about? Give us a problem description and we might have a chance of helping you out. Reading back through previous threads, your treatment of the car doesnt seem to be great, i wouldnt be working on the car sorting the cooling out and then taking it up to 140... Surely you would think to check things a little more thoroughly than taking an 18 year old sports car for a thrashing? End of the day these are alot more complicated than a bike, and it will most likely be alot older. Treat it with a bit of respect and take your time.
  5. That would be a turbo not a VXR ;) I think there was only something like 400 VXR's made??
  6. Porker 911 Turbo?? BMW M3 CSL Aston Martin DB7 TVR T350c :D Mitsi Evo 9 (A friend of mine has just sold his 9 320 to buy a 10, had a decat, remap and a filter and was 397bhp and 398lbft jesus christ could it shift!) Jag XKR BMW M5 (Old shape obviously, but a realy nice car, last of the more mechanical M cars!) BMW 850CSI (must be a CSI with the 48v 5.6 v12 @ 380bhp and 6 speed box, very rare and very special!)
  7. Do you have standard brakes on this or GTR calipers? If you still have standard calipers then subaru imprezza pads or 200sx (s14) pads will do!
  8. Yeah they were doing well on track until one of them binned it off just before the pits... Made a right mess i had a load of pictures somewhere. IIRC it was so bent that it had a front wheel cocked of the ground when sat level!
  9. not today but i had them off on friday, Drove back from work with them off. 35 miles of M55 and M6 and it was fantastic. Had them off all saturday as well. Not driven the zed for a couple of days though so no targa off driving for me :( I've been in diesel power.... :'(
  10. Does that mean if i give you £2k i can have it???! I'll be there tomorrow!
  11. LOL! Awesome
  12. S1 vs S2 (S4 perhaps) clocks? i know they were all changed at some point
  13. I tend to give mine 30 seconds or so before moving off, then i drive gentle, no more than 2500rpm ish until its well warm and then never full throttle for a few more miles.... It doesnt sound good mate, i would leave it and try not to drive it until you can get it to a place that knows about the car. Then send the first garage the bill from the second and all should be well. Is it running on all 6 cylinders? Theres a thought i wonder if they have broken a coil pack connector, would make it sound rubbish although im not sure it should affect the oil pressure!

lol prop is getting worse and worse on mine, im going to TRY and get it sorted before japfest, but its not looking hopefull. Going in on friday to have the brakes all bled up, and then monday its having new tension rod bushes to try and cure another rattle and the alarming inner tyre wear!
  15. the guy that sold it was on here... it was only on the forum a couple of weeks ago as someone who owned it i think?? Bingo http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106998&highlight=Miyamoto
  16. I had mine done by phil in manchester, who made an excelent job of it. However i sourced all my own parts, basically gave them a zed and pile of parts and picked up a week later as a zed with a manual gearbox and a whole different pile of parts :D Makes such a difference, i couldnt believe it was the same car!
  17. very interested in these! let me know what you want and what you would like for postage my friend
  18. tend to squeel due to high metal content in the pads so they dont work preoperly until there is some heat in them. Look at the Aston that James May took to italy when top gear went looking for the best driving road, that squeeled until it had some heat in it!
  19. i'll be honest i rather like the squeel... makes it sound like a proper supercar! All brakes should squeel until they are hot! :D
  20. with a 200sx was probably just interested in all fairness! End of the day its another fast nissan, i know i go and look at a 200 if i see one about.... If it was an elderly rover or a transit van with a trailer on the back id be a little more concerned
  21. LOL! hehe Front end is pretty much universal 3 different models of bumper available, 89-98 we have the NA and TT number and IIRC both the NA and the TT bumper both used the "99 spec" bumper. If you car is standard then it has the 89-98 TT bumper with the intercooler slats. I believe all models apart from the convertible are the same to rear of the doors, then they are then all different between LWB and SWB (obviously the rare SWB slicktop has a tin lid instead of removable glass panels but apart from that its the same)
  22. what pads are in there? Could be uneven padwear from a sticky piston in the caliper, causing the less worn edge to vibrate since it is "snagged" when the car is in reverse??
  23. when the car is checked for drugs by dogs?? Hehe I like them actually! They go well when supercharged and on throttle bodies :D
