My Zed is reliable. Is yours??
To be honest, over 18 months maybe a little more i did 12k miles in my 300zx TT and it never once gave me a problem. Apart from a dead battery which it had two weeks before it got sold.. grr! LOL It had some money spent on it, exhausts, brakes, change from auto to manual, but they were all my choice to improve it. But the car didnt actually need the work doing.
-
what games can you get a Z in?
there was also the "real nissan car simulator" which if people remember we had a brief flurry with last year or so... I sitll have it. Hard to control and not a brilliant game but has a couple of 300zx's in it :)

North West Rolling Road Day
Sounds good guys just seen this. Is this all in hand or does it need some organisation?? LOL I'll bring the M3 down and get it done - been meaning too for a while. As for issues with an Auto, i never managed to get my zed dyno'd when it was an auto BUT i think that was lack of knowledge on the dyno operators part. (They are no longer in business!)

Shocking......
To be fair though, the one with the dog, it shouldnt have been on the road anyway should be on a lead... for me in a similar situation fiedo would have bought the farm. The one wit the kid and the van he just walked out into the road without looking so it wouldnt have mattered what speed the van was doing.. Infact if it was going faster he might not have walked in front of it?? The one with the car stopped on a blind bend, 80 or 150km/h he still wouldnt have been able to stop... infact at a higher speed he might have made it through the gap. End of the day its all sad events but they are matters of circumstance thats all accidents are... I remember watching a video, a badly done mock up, but the idea was at 20mph a guy walked into the road and go run down, the car at 30 was passed the guy before he walked into the road... Comical but made a good point. Thankfully freak accidents like that are rare but its all down to driving to the conditions in hand, the road passed my house is 60mph yet its a winding country lane which people randomly stop cars on the pick fruit and rubbish like that so i dont drive fast down it however im legally entitled to!

Some questions
WHen you say heater, you mean the Air con compressor, if you have the heaters on but press the "econ" button then the revs should lower again... we'll just make sure its the compressor kicking in making the revs change! LOL Idle control valve perhaps is a common cause of a hunting idle. Also possibly Air flow meter egr valve can cause this as well i believe? When you say it wont go above 6k, how accurate is your rev counter? Does it hit an actual limiter like a fuel cut? Or just not want to rev any harder? Does it make any odd noises at those revs? The reason why i ask about the rev counter accuracy, is mine is about 300rpm out at tick over and like 800rpm out at the redline LOL Also with your chipped ECU - check the rev limit, the mines ECU in mine changed the stock limit of 7000 ro 7550, no ones accidently set it lower when the chip was programmed have they?

No boost
what hes trying to say is that any boost the working turbo generates will be lost through the duff turbo since the balance bar is there to equalise pressure on both side of the engine, all the boost will be lost through the siezed blades. Which means you'll get atmospheric pressure in the manifold (0). Basically a case of findout which is siezed then you can look at how much of a job it is to replace. Although if one is knackered then other probably isnt far behind... So in that case, pop the engine out and go from there :)

super kit cars
I'll give em £12 for it! So its a fake beetle which is a bit windier noiser?? Not my thing im affraid! Dont even appear to be fast
-
Non start (another one)
Your odd idle will probably be because of the ECU forgetting what its learnt and should stablise after a while. Also i wonder if it was an issue with the flat battery and an imboliser if it has one? Possible.

how accurate is the speedp reading on the TOMTOM...
I always go by the tom tom makes the average speed camera roadworks pass at 55 on speedo lol, different in all cars. Van @ 100mph on speedo is about 93 on sat nav, my M3 is about bang on, 80 on clock is 79 on TomTom, my zed was about 4mph out at 80 (76 on satnav)

My new runaround
very nice! :) Always loved the E39 M5, especially lovely car!
-
how much petrol left when light comes on?
mines never been on, never got more than 55 litres in the tank but the needed is on the E at that... so totally inaccurate like the rest of the gauges in the car haha! Although some news tonight, took the old girl for a run and the oil pressure gauge is working beautifully! First time in two years of ownership... 5 days before its picked up by its new owner lol

Newbie question
When mine was an Auto it was very unenthusiastic about moving around when it was cold... i put this down to there being more oil in the system which remained colder for longer because of its large oil cooler... Obviously gearbox oil is going to work better when its warm... or so i figured? Thats why the cars wont go into overdrive or lockup until they are up to temperature, i figured this was a sensor for the oil temperature in the gearbox? Or is it based on engine coolant temperature? Anyone know... just for my own personal interest?

brake booster
When you say no brake lights are out, how many do you have? You should have 2 on each side and also the spoiler light (not sure if this is monitored by that warning light though) On mine the inner two brake lights had been disconnected and one used as a fog light, is yours similar?
