LOL :D whats the best colour????? only you can answer that one! UK's are more prone to rust than the imports. Actively looking for a 'cheap' one bud is asking for trouble!
  7. You could replace it Tone but it will only clogg up again in time.
  8. HEY!!!!!! Merc one's don't count! Ha ha...........I couldn't hazard a guess on one of them! BAS.........back aerial switch ESP.........extra sunroof (pink) SRS.........side rectum sensor DCM........double concave mirror AAC.........anal alert circuit EIS..........electronic ice server EGS.........getting bored now GSM SAM CAN AAM CDI ECM HFM
  9. LOL!! Yes.......it had better be good. :D
  10. No, didn't say 'just' the temp sensor wiring was naff! :D :D :D One? 6 of each would be lovely mate! Seriously, are you ordering?
  11. If you're using PAINT then at the top, cant remember under which tab, there will be somnething like 'skew and stretch' go into that and you will see a percentage option, make them 50% and that will halve the size, etc. .......not sure tbh if this reduces the k aswell?
  12. Just on a different kinda note, (you saying you were wondering about the guys sense of humour) well, you all must know by now that I do like a bit of a laugh and am always mucking about? Well, you'd be surprised at the amount of people who are quite willing to be a bit 'stoopid and silly' if you just show them the way! You know, people you never think would be like that, squares at work etc!! Act my age? no chance, when you're in the box or properly fogey-fied, you got no choice. Know what I mean? Or am I talking to myself on this one? :D :p ;) (I can be sensible if the situation warrants it!.....at a push)
  13. I see you're in Nottingham, close by to Luke at the Z Centre, he is always worth a call and is really helpful. He used to be technical advisor to the Z Club I think. Does exhausts aswell!! :D ;)
  14. Yes, the temp sensor is right in the middle at the front with a smaller sensor to the right hand side, a couple of inches away. My actual sensor was fine, it was just the oxidised wiring and connections to it. (this is just my own opinion but I found a little dip in the revs before they increased was also due to this coolant sensor) Not the big fan, that will always spin as it on a viscous coupling to the engine. It is the much smaller fan nearer the front of the car, tbh I don't even know if the na's have them, I would've thought so! The temp gauge on the dash would behave normally, you're right, so this is no indication if the sensor is faulty. But as I said, this is a secondary check after the PTU.
  15. LMFAO!!! That is quality Stu! Have you told him what a 'Z' is yet? Send him a pic! ;) :p :D
  16. Definately agreed it sounds like the PTU but second thing to check would be the coolant temp sensor. The wiring to mine was naff to say the very least and it also gave the exact symptoms you have described; cutting out, not re-starting etc. I'm guessing that in my case, it wouldn't re-start as the ECU thinks the engine is/has over-heated and is allowing time for it to supposedly 'cool down'. A good clean on both of these may just cure your problem. Good luck, let us know how you get on. (There is a tell-tale sign if the temp sensor or wiring to it is faulty and thats if your little elec fan appears to be running all the time, if you're not sure then get on your hands and knees and look up through the front at the bottom)

As for accellerating a bit quicker, favoured first step mods would be induction kit, exhaust and upping that boost! You will notice quite some improvement doing these 3! One at a time maybe to start off with.
  18. You're dead right! Owning a Z IS more than just owning a car, it IS a hobby! And this place only doubles the pleasure of owning one. ;)
  19. ECU PTU AIV PCV MAS CAS HKS ALC AFR .......your turn! Have I missed any? :p
  20. Thats why you're 'FAT TONY'..........too many bytes!

Do you mean the 112mph limiter? or just how to make it a little faster?
  22. Mark, the oil pressure sender is well known for getting clogged up and the reading maybe show quite low but it won't be the true reading. (as Andy said, took a while to type that cos was on the phone so didn't see his reply!)
  23. Why you gonna mix it? You're doing a complete change right? and the filter? You worried about the bit left kinda stuck to the inside of the engine etc? That'll be fine dude.
  24. Very nice. You must be stoked to be back in a Z. :D
  25. I don't think mine will kickdown into 1st at 30mph, must be getting close to that, say mid 20's but wouldn't say 30. I'm gonna check tomorrow now and I'll let you know. Feels good though eh? And totally agree with your other comments! :D I can change from 1st to 2nd by just dropping off the gas at the exact right time and planting it again.......it must sound like the quickest manual change ever! (got bovs) Manuals OR auto's..............who cares?! The Z is a fantastic car in both forms.
