Hi Guys I was just wondering how much you all pay or have paid for 300zx Gaskets? Full engine set or just the head gasket?

i managed to pick one up for £150 brand new (aftermarket of course) - i had to bend one of the air con pipes just a little to connect as is very tight - havnt had gassed yet but hopefully it was a good buy

Engine Wires, plugs, pipes
Hi Now in the stage of putting my engine back together after rebuild, unfortunately the majority of tags i put on plugs, pipes etc are not readable (woopsy) I saw a colour diagram a little while ago on here which noted what all the plugs were for and what connected to what. Tried to search for it but cant find it, tried 300zx manual and that isnt much help for me. Anyone know of the diagram or where i could try?

vtc springs and solenoid
Does anyone know on where to get hold of some springs and is there a way to test the solenoid while you have engine apart to check it works properly, any ideas? Also how do i know if i need new springs? Do people generally replace them? or have they got a long life. Engine is on 70,000 mile?

a basic cruise control question(s)
hi bought a zed last year, it never had cruise control. i one day had to upgrade my pod on right hand side which now has the button for it. If i press i can hear a clicking over near the ecu. I dont have the actual cruise control module in the engine bay. BUT.... would this be all i need? This is the basic question below........ How do you use it? Do you need to control it from steering wheel or is there a stalk you need or do you need the standard steering wheel. (cant believe i'm asking this but i need to know)

play in propshaft joint
i've got slight movement on the propshaft on the constant velocity joint on the back near the axle. Should i be really worried about this or do you think its got loads of time. Its only got a couple of mm play

injector plugs
thank you very much slick pete. there off now so i can crack on again. When i did take them were brittle, actually majority of stuff under the engine bay was brittle. lol cheers anyway

injector plugs
trying to get my engine out , now the harness that goes down the centre of the plenum which holds coil packs, and injectors i think. i've unplugged the packs but having trouble with injectors if thats what they are. how do you get them off. do you simply pull them off?

Insurance and SP30 ban
sp30 usually would add max of 10% to insurance. One with a ban could take it to 15% or 20% sometimes Myself if i'm giving someone a quote i wouldnt even bother loading for just one - banned or not. If you had more than one then you would prob be looking at the percentage loads at the top

hes got a point, why dont you try and get an estimate from a garage so you know which parts need replacing if you dont already and the use this site as loads of cars are always being broken?

i've sent him a pm, the z1 gt 675rs are ones that keep catching my eyes but i'm not sure, then i've got hassle of having to buy yet an extra thing as they need 5 bolt downpipes.

A plan i believe are a broker/intermediary, Whose your actual insurance company? Usually if you put in a request before you send the log book to them this can be done. Havnt heard of an insurance company that wont let you unless it was somthing like a cat a or cat b write off i believe

hello peeps, what am to do? i've blown tubs. now have about 1100 - 1400 quid sitting there. should i go for reconditioned standards or has anyone got any decent sites they know of that could be of some help? i've tried z1motorsport. didnt know if there were any jap sites or uk websites or if anyone has got any second hand aftermarket sets for sale? any info would be helpful. cheers

gearbox and engine weight
how much do each weigh as thinking of buying an engine lift but it can only handle 1/2 a ton on full extension. havnt got a clue on how much any of these would weigh. i want to try and take both out all in one if possible or does anyone know any faults doing if i do it this way aswell?

so far the engine has full decat system, chipped, adjustable boost. got a 650bhp intercooler on it to hold the future mods - not much done yet - whatever route i take the engine will have benn fully rebuilt with forged rods and pistons. looking at bigger rad either koyo or ashspecz with the above you have mentioned too. i think youve cofirmed it as 675 option does look best to take.

which way to go?
hello everyone. dont post much but up for another answer from you all. Still recovering from my weekend up in scotland to buy some tein coilovers what a drive from east anglia!!!! - managed to grab a set throught ebay for 385 quid - some of you may have been watching them. Now all that is left is to fit them along with veilside rear bumper and leather seats and then its on to the engine. Im toying with 3 ideas at the moment - do i keep the vg30 dett and uprate it with gt675rs turbos along with requirements needed? or due i go for an rb26 lump out of a gtr and modify that? or go for a single turbo conversion on the vg30 dett engine? Looked also at the v8 option - BUT for what i want its gonna be the most expensive option (vh45 engine with twin turbo setup from usa) so that idea as kinda been put to the back of my head. Is there any major floor with anyone of the options you could think of or relate to except hard labour + money. i seem to be siding with the 675rs option at the mo, BUT i'm needing help to see if i'm definately going to be making the right decision before i start the job. I also heard if something was to go wrong with any engine that the rb26 would be alot lot easier to work on? look forward to hearing any answer or view from any of you however small? cheers James

try being 20 years old - 0 ncb - on a low wage (1500) tpft 600 x/s best thing to do is have a ring round and go back to fluxs to see if they can have a look elsewhere or refer to a manager or somthing - they usally can sort it

(back in the day) - i was in march the other day - was in the george inn. was in the zed too, parked out back near d plod. which one you you workin at in march at the mo then?
