Rust on the rear wheel arches is a common issue, mine need doing too...

Eh? Mine is 17 years old a flew through the emmisions test, new exhaust and new cat. How old is the exhaust system? What reading did you get on your cert? Its gotta be a sensor surely... I found the best way to get work done is diagonose it with some help on here and do the work yourself.

Hi Glen. 1600 kgs!? Do you have lead wheels or something m8? When reading up on the Zed, i was under the immpression they were 1000kgs... Hence hitting the 'majic' 300bhp per ton. No doubt someone will post accurate figures! lol Anyway...What ever! Not bothered! :D I'm off for a :duffer: or two!

Ok chaps. My zed had some re-spray work done by the previous owner and i dont think much of the job done. Yesterday, my car 'aquired' additional splash's of white paint all over body work, and trimming, from a jet wash brush @ Morrison's Petrol station in Reading.Liability aint mine, so need a recommendation on where to get a full body re-spray done proper. I live in Reading, but not to fussed on where it gets done as long as it is done professionally and looks sweet as when i get it back. I am also looking to get the rear aches cut out and replaced at the same time and the tailgate replaced as these have gone rusty in places and need changing cutting out.

The gear boxes are normally pretty solid, is your Zed an Auto? I was thinking syncro or clutch setting.

Dunno if this is related but... Had a similar problem 4 months ago,i changed to a series2 ptu, no diff', so went through every dam eletrical connection and contact cleaned everything. Coil packs the lot... Runs sweet as now.

lol:D Hmmm... Good point m'man. My rear wheel arches need cutting out and replaceing... Oh...And the spoiler too... Probably be a replacement tailgate in the near future. At least its only body work...Easy and cheep repair, just a little time consuming.. Today i'll be removing the front end, re-tapping fixing points for the front nose after an accident while stationary with a cyclist! :headvswal

2K for a TT? Abs light always on and boost gauge not working? If i were you, i would walk away... Save you money up and buy a sorted one for around 3.5k - 4k. '91 plate onwards, manual uk spec ideally, stay away from Auto's too, from what i'v read on hear Auto's are a tad less reliable and prone to 'issues'. Sounds like your going to find brakes disks, pads, gauges and turbo seals are in need of replacement and you WILL be shocked at the price for replacment parts. Before you can replace a turbo seal you will have to pull the engine out... Turbo seal - 20 pence Engine out - 700 quid labour alone... Just so you have an idea of what you could be letting yourself in for, a new exhaust system (with CAT) will set u back nearly a grand. Half the price off the car you could be buying. Save you penny's and look else where m8, that my advice.

Zed's eh???:D Check your fluid levels m8, i get a hot oily smell, (from the turbo casings i imagine) almost every time i drive mine for an extended period.
