Mine has had Castrol GTX Magnatec since new... No reason to change. ( Nt kidding either!) Nearly 17 years... And she still rox. :D

Bit of a regular occurance it seems dude...:D (Pie soup) Chuffed to bits to see another looked after Zed driving the other way. Wanna hook up for a few beers? The hop leaf is a fav...I'm sure u drive past it!;) (Btw...Leave the toy @ home mate!:D) :hurl:

Zed TT Fuel economy ?
Depends how u drive it... Mine s stock...So a tad less than 300 bhp i guess. 20 quid will often give me 30 -50 miles...'IF' i can manage my driving style, then typically 200miles..... :D 300+ to a tank is poss... But only when keep her below 3k rpm in every gear Normally, get less than 200 to a full tank, because i love drivin the bi-atch..:D The grin just stays where it belongs no matter wot!!! :D (except at the end of the month!!!:D)

Change the ptu to a series 2 and then go through every connector that u can disconnect and clean the crap off... Your Zed should run fine after. Mine did. (Thks to some advise from Ollie n co :D)

Not far wrong there mate. Nissan Didcot we're good however,they have an experianced mech there. but the local place in Reading did'nt want to touch my Zed! YTS 4 ya! lol :D

Alright Vijay, you could be onto something there bro', when i took the old ptu out, the connectors on 1 end were very corroded... :wack: Think i'll go and whip it out again now and start now as i wont be able to get on her again till Friday. Cheers dude. :dance:

Alright dude. New 1 is a series 2 PTU, which i fitted at lunch time, thought it would run fine after fitting, but nope, not a chance. Took her down the road and she's aint a happy bunny that's fer sure... So next step is PCV valves and see if they're blocked and need cleaning / replacing... Spannering a car like the TT is new to me, so i'm learning as i go. :smash: Fun tho' so i dont mind. :dance: Seems like fuel starvation 2 me, she runs ok, but then gets all shitty and then dies. Its def not the pump or fuel reg as they are brand spankin.

Ok Ollie, sorted mate. Ecu code is 55... I thing i have noticed, is the 'slurp slurp' noises have gone... Is this the PCV valve blocked poss'? Pete

Mate! Your a trooper for sure! :) If she's still sat there is the same shape as she is now by next week i'll let you know. Any advice/help is appreciated big time. And if you need a new mobile, i could help you out.

I'v just changed the ptu, and the dam thing still aint running right. Starts ok then sits at idle and then engine just dies... Ignition lights on.. Starts again... Runs on idle.. Then dies again. PCV valves? Or just a service? Both... :wack:

lol Give your Zed a service mate and i suggest you RTFM. :D I had the same worry when i bought my Zed... Its like 'Wot the fook is wrong wiv the oil pressure!?' But after doing some reading i found out that there is nothing wrong with the oil pressure gauge. When i'm sat in traffic my oil pressure gauge drops to zero too.Its a Nissan design feature, and its normal for a stock mota.

Jeezuz mate! Sorry t' hear that dude. I dont know what some people are thinking!? (Aparts from getting cheep parts for a car that they are just realising they probably cant afford to run!? ) Happened early Feb mate...Around the same time as ice cracked my rear spoiler when the snow was about. I did'nt want to post it on here, to be honest but after waiting 6 weeks (ok not 2months) for a new seal (tried buying 2nd hand, but all i got was tat!) and then tried fitting the dam thing.After close inspection realised the dam thing would never fit untill i get a whole window and fittings replaced... Not chuffed with my Zed at the mo. I'v just spent nearly a grand on the exhaust system and rear drop links! I tell ya mate... There's a rough old zed jap import with a body kit on running around Reading...(Unfreindly too- Does'nt give toot or wave! :nono: ) It is a bit of a mess... (rear bumper has the foam coming out of it! :shock: ) Put 2 n 2 together... (Or jumpin to conclusions! :smash: )
