I'm not sure it's a TT/NA thing Si, I think it's a Series thing. The later models incorporated all the warning lights in to the speedo clusters. Mine has blanked off areas there.

There's also an aerial stuck on the inside of the windscreen on the driver's side. Jap TV maybe.

Sounds like those Ebay 'black boxes' that are just a resister to change the MAF reading and fool the ECU.
