Robbery
one of my school mates has worked his way up through the force and is now in the Armed Response Unit and let me tell you those guys dont mess about. They are trained for headshots with a high calibre semi-auto handgun on a approaching target reaching point blank. They carry 4 leathal weapons on them at all times with one of them being a Taser. When i jokingly asked about the pump action shotguns he said they keep them in the boot! If they are called out to a situation they are for one reason. To take down the target with leathal force. They dont need a signal from a commanding officer, whether they open fire is down to their judgement and that is what they are there to do. If you run away from them after you have been told to stop like the guy on the Stockwell tube on a highly tense day there was only going to be one way that would end. It all sounds like macho action man stuff but there are alot of guns out there and the ARU are there to protect people from criminals with these illegal firearms.

smoke/steam from engine bay!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know how you feel sometimes mate. It seems that socialising sometimes takes precedence over sorting out peoples technical problems. I know some people on here work on these cars for a living and dont want to be seen to give away "free" advice but if it is a problem that you are obviously concerned about it would be nice if someone could offer you a little help. Unfortunately I aint that guy as i know little about what is going wrong around that side of the engine but there are enough people on here who have taken out engines and stuff which this would be bread and butter for. You havent pee'ed me off but there are might be some sensitive souls on here that dont like you dissing their second home. Good luck and hope you find an answer to your problem! Tom

Omg!
how do you get scantly clad girls to pose on your car. It seems to be the best mod you can do. Can you get them from Halfords?

EBC drilled and grooved discs
I had a new pair of EBC front discs for my prelude once and they buckled almost straight away. I was told they were probably from a "bad batch" but i had no chance in getting my money back as i bought them from someone on a honda forum. When they aren't part of the bad batches i have heard they are great!

Stuck in my flat for a couple of days......
look on the brightside......you are off work for a bit! I would happily take a twisted ankle for that. Plenty of Forza and Countdown. Carol did the numbers game with 233x4 when i was watching it the other day. amazing!

What GPS/Satnav systems do you use?
stick with the AA Giant Road Atlas of Great Britain mate! I have been tempted to invest in satnav but i prefer getting there by my own nouse not with a computer telling me what to do. It does feel alot more rewarding when you get there by your own steam and if you happen to get lost you see parts of the world that you would otherwise never encounter!

Black Z between Uxbridge Road & A40 Acton.
i always like to know the identities of the unmarked cop cars that operate in my area so i know if they are following me etc. Found it pretty hard since being in london because there are so many but i knew them all by number plate when i used to live in dorset.

natural born killers !!
Natural Born Killers is Oliver Stone isnt it? It is a sick film though!

Black Z between Uxbridge Road & A40 Acton.
wasnt me cos i have a red one but that is definitely my endz and my route to and from work! just out of interest so i know to keep my eyes peeled was the guy pulled by a panda car or unmarked? If unmarked what make, colour, etc was the car? What time of day was this?

headlight alignment adjustment
have gone through the adjuster thing before and hopefully they are all working after i did the metal cog conversion with the cogs from a model car. I actually found these cogs didnt work very well and would rather get the replacements from nissan (do they really do these relpacement parts?? do you know the part number). Dont want to take the car to a MOT centre for adjustment because the adjustment cogs need to be adjusted gently! They method you describe of doing it yourself sounds similar to a way i heard where you drive very close up to a wall and mark the centre point of the light then reverse 10 metres then line up the light on the mark. How do MOT centres do it. Do they have some sort of professional device to do it?

finally happy with it......!
Pics now resized. thanks again for the kind comments.

headlight alignment adjustment
i didnt do that before unfortunately and dont think they were that well adjusted anyway. What do MOT places use to make the adjustment?

headlight alignment adjustment
Have just installed my HIDs and want to adjust the alignment of the the dipped and the main beam. I know where the adjusters are but was wondering how i line them up. Obviously i need it to be dark for a start! Do i park close to a wall or garage door and check they are at the same level but how do i know they are at the right height and the side to side alignment?

Water everywhere?? Bo**ocks!!!
what about this for a positive optomistic theory...... the water level was fine but when you added the extra water this morning it went over the H mark in the expansion tank. This would of been ok until the coolant was upto pressure and coolant was pushed into the expansion tank causing it to overflow???? Always nice to have a simple and inexpensive explanation when people are saying HG failure!

Yeeeehaaaah !!!!!
the problem you are decribing is commonly known as 'tramlining'. There is plenty of info on here about it. The main theories why it is caused is too wider tread on the front wheels compared to the rears (it seems to be suggested that 225 front and 265 rears is a good starting point), Tracking not correctly adjusted, worn suspension joints particulary the HICAS ball joints on the back. To check if the ball joints are worn jack the rear wheel up and hold at 3'o'clock and 9'o'clock and see if there is any left-to-right movement. Hope this helps. Congrats on the MOT pass it is always a relief when it goes through without much $$$ spent!

finally happy with it......!
thanks guys. getting a post coital warm glow feeling about the car at the moment. Cant stop looking out the window at it! Will have to resize the pics on monday when im back in work on monday cos i havent got outlook on this laptop. James, I just gave the bonnet a T-cut and think it has come up quite well. Compare the one from the Rolling Road day to the ones in my rides and you can see the difference. abeit the fact that day my car was flithy and unwashed! bit of nightdriving will be good. Will be fitting the HIDs this weekend so it will be to test them out. hopefully now the kids are back at school the roads will be clearer than last time! PS I was looking at the pics and noticed one of my headlight spray covers was missing. Dropped into the jet wash on the way back from work and found it stuck in the drain grill. Got it back on now!

floor drag
on 5th gear when tiff went to the Veyron assembly factory they showed a shot of the underside of the car. I was expecting some stuff going on down there and maybe a diffuser or something but it was completely flatenned of with a board of carbon fibre. Tiff seemed to be suggesting this had a big effect on the veyron's performance. I am not for one moment suggesting the zed is anything like the performance engineering of the veyron but are the flappy sh**guards that hang down having a bad affect on the zeds performance and handling? The rear part of my guard has come away from the attaching bolt and barely clears the ground.

Alloy Wheels
not sure if that is possible but older tyres corrode around the rims and stop the tyres seating properly. Maybe it is the corrosion that is porous. They can be cleaned easily up by any tyre fitters

Chav or not Chav?
I think they look good mate and the whole car looks ultra sweet!! One thing i would bin if possible would be the orange indicators. Particularly the round front ones.
-
Chav or not Chav?
Do you have any more pics to show as an example? I can only see 3 on this thread. One with the lights on and 2 without.

Dissapointed in this car
dont like them. Trying to looking like a bentley or Rolls but dont pull it off because it actually looks like it was made on the cheap. The brits are the only ones who can make luxury cars and anyone who buys one of them thinking they look like Earl Big'ed the third are truely kidding themselves!

Chav or not Chav?
I think they look good. I think everyone has judged them without looking at the picture because a few "do as you like-ys" put horrible cheap blue ones on their oxide red faded corsa bonnets. I honestly think it looks good on a "futuristic" car like the skyline and i think if people were being a bit more objective they might agree. The choice is yours but you have one vote from me.
