Insuring two cars
Hi Guys, I'm about to re-insure the z along with a day to day car. Anyone got any experience of doing this with one company or two? The z will be limited mileage and the other car will be day to day both fully comp. Thanks in advance! Andy

300zx in Japan earthquake news
Wonder if the owner survived? I feel so sorry for that whole nation. What amazes me the most is their attitude - just seem to me getting on with it. Such a sad situation.

Water temp and boost gauge replacement
Hi mate I found them on alibaba which is for traders only. They wouldn't respond to my emails though. I then got Jerrick from meisterR on the case and he managed to get me one as a favor. He did say he would not be interested in importing them as they are so expensive. He did that one at cost for as a a tha k you for the research I did one the coilovers for the z I think the shadow ones are quite good if the demon ones are a no go.

Water temp and boost gauge replacement
the two things you look at already are rpm and speed. it therefore makes sense to have other gauges in the same area imho. i like the idea of having boost and rpm close to each other.

One picture is 20mm and the other is 25mm!!! If you search on here there are some offset threads. It was a bit of trial and error for me!

Water temp and boost gauge replacement
it can give you an indication of detonation i.e. lean mixture will burn at a higher temp. (I have by passed the knock sensor as it died) Not essential on my level of tuning but is nice to know what is going on when i upgrade my tubs. Might not even hook it up yet as it maybe wise to put it in line before the turbos which will be a pain in the arse. Would be easier when I get new turbos and manifolds. I was going to put it in the down pipes but still looking into it.

I normally go up with the zclub guys. Every year they do about four rounds of the zclub drag challenge. It's really cool and you can get your name in there hall of fame. Mike Feaney is at the top doing an 8 or 9 second time in a big block chevy powered 280z!!! If you are keen on drag racing then keep an eye on the calender over there. As for traction - my wheels were slightly out of line last time i went but they are ok now so lets see!!

Water temp and boost gauge replacement
Well, that time of the year seems to be hear again and I have got my tinkering mojo back so I thought i'd put up some updates on a few new projects. the first one is to replace the rubbish temp gauge without having lots of extra pod stuck all over the place. So - rip the old one out!!! This very easy and there are only a few screws holding it it. Most aftermarket 60mm gauges will fit in the hole quite neatly. I have managed to source a gauge that gives me water temp, exhaust temp and boost all in one. Not cheap at £180 but it is 3 gauges in one. I have managed to match it to my the standard dash colours and even the orientation of the needle at rest is a perfect match. The lense cover will be removed also so it will look the same as the other dials (non reflective). It's all about the detail and for me - less is more!! All I have to do now is get the EGT and water temp senders that come with the kit welded in to the top water pie and exhaust :scared: What do you think?
