It does though doesn't it? I thought the claimwas that the crystals of whatever is in there slowly dissolve over lots of miles. Is there any way of testing octnae rating? Like dipping some fancy litmous type paper in or anything? Although I guess if there was they would tell you the results...

You should be able to get to the 2 heater matrix hoses without removing anything. It's tight but doable with long nosed pliers etc

A more diluted mixture rediuces the coolants ability to find leaks, it's true :) Something about increasing the viscosity. JeffTT wrote a thread about it - have a search.
