also as there is a defo problem could this put the car in safety mode??

can you reset the auto box control unit or not, maybe it still thinks its got a faulty tps

right as you all might know ive had a problem with my zed since i brought it and now its getting me down, problems are cuts out at idle, poor performance, erractic gear changes etc etc, all the faults was aiming at TPS, so for £50 i put a new on one and set it up etc but to no joy and no ECU fault codes, now im confused. yesterday after hours of searching forums i came across an artical about blink testing my auto box just done the test and its came back throttle sensor circuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please help regards andy

has anyone spotted me yet, L500GUN red uk tt mainly in the midlands area even tho ive drove it all over, anybody lol??

right where do i start lol 93 uk auto tt 88,000 standard no mods 1. Car has a low knocking noice on start up with the sound of tapits aswell or and by the looks the vvti spring are on the way out 2. Car stalls when coming to a stop under braking if the engine is about to die and i come off the brake it saves itself, and if you are on full lock and blip the throttle when the revs come back down to idle it cuts out or sometimes saves itself but it struggles 3. When flooring the car from stand still it goes well but when crusing and i plant it sometimes it doesnt change down, this is only when its in 2nd or 3rd gear doesnt go to 1st. also i get a goose honk noice when it changes gear at 6900rpm i think it is (when giving it death) 4. when coming off the throttle when driving the engine jumps, its like dipping the clutch when driving a manuel and bring it up when got your foot on the throttle, box doesnt seem to be releasing. 5. under full boost with the window down i can hear an air leak or is this normal? any help on solving these problems is a great help, ive done a service on the car due another oil change soon, cleaned and blanced throttle bodies, checked air leaks by spraying brake cleaner on every joint, cleaned the top pipe on the idle air valve and car has been set up on conzult, and no faults found thanks again regards andy

hiya chap that the same problem with me ended up on the back of the tow truck, the whining nice is lack of oil in the convertor/auto box, the strainer is a filter, if blocked (mine was full of little metal shavings and dirt but after 13 years this aint bad) no oil will go through to the box resulting in no pressure, no lights came on the dash at all because there is oil in the box, i followed these steps http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/autoTrannyOilChange/autoTrannyOilChange.html, took me all of an hour to do this job, and the car is back on the road and fine, done this 3 times to flush all the old oil out, hope this helps and good luck regards andy

this wont help bloke but i get the same thing and no 1 can tell me how to fix it, the car other wise goes well, if you find out please tell me lol, im going to start with cleaning the idle air valve at the back of the engine. regards andy

hi guys and girls ive got a strange sound when coming off the throttle, its hard to explain but when the revs are coming down it sounds like theres something lose in the engine bay, sounds like an unblanced fan (ie turbo) but car feels fine as in boosting goods, could this be the convertor in the gearbox?? my car is a 93 auto TT uk spec any help is greatful regards andy

sorry guys been away for a couple of days, yes just like cybernet said drain the oil on some auto boxes they dont have a drain plug so when u'll make a mess dropping the sump, its held in by about 16 bolts. then the strainer is held in by 3 bolts, "MAKE SURE U DONT LOSE THE SEAL RING WHEN TAKING THE STRAINER DOWN" and then top up will autobox fluid, when topping bac up i used 3 litres then ran her and kept checking the level, but im goin to change it again because there is still fluid in the coverter.

yea only had the car over a month but took it to him to have a check over and there just wasnt enough time in the day for him to talk about the cars, help me so much, heres a drink to jeff lol

no problem at all, enjoyed doing it aswell a little self achievement, why keep this info to myself this could help someone one day, only cost would have been the g/box old but as i have boxes of it from work im all ok LOL, going to do it again in a couple of days because there is still old oil in the converter, but this time in goin to put a new filter in just for a piece of mind, but theres no need for this lol, speak soon guys

just like to say people that i sorted my gearbox within 1hr of working on it, thanks to tech advise from zedworld!! they knew straight away that it was a blocked g/box filter/strainer. took it off and cleaned her now shes running great, because this was blocked the gearbox was losing pressure resulting in no drive, job cost me £0 :) thanks for all your advise again guys regards andy

my car has done 87,000 and had new tubs fitted about 20,000 ago, at the moment she is off the road with no drive, but before this there was no probs at all, no smoke

UK 1993 TT auto Let me start from the begining on the way out driving along at 40 then all of a sudden the rev's shoot up and then i realise i have no drive at all, so i pull over and try to select 1,2 D and R and there is no selection and car jus doesnt move. So i switch off the car check the auto box level and all is ok. start her up again so there seems to be no problems. 100yards down the road no drive again!!!! so pull over and all i can hear is like a high pitch sound from the back of the engine (converter) area. got the car recovered and now havent a clue what is wrong with her. know jus how u feel bloke had mine stolen and got her back in one piece they only stole one cd HAHAHA and it was wrecked anyways, used quarter of a tank in 14miles, shes now goin to have the works done to her, LONG LIVE THE Z!!!

so the the sensor is colour coded aswell?? the wiring loom plug is missing and he has put two spade connectors straight onto the plug!!!!!!! :shock: regards andy
