hi mate do you find that your shifter is a bit clunky when you change...like you really have to push it into gear not hard but still needs more effort than a stock one

yes mate it all came with the kit i still have the scars lol dont know of anyone else thats fitted a short shift so im unsure as to the clunkyness of the shifter is normal or if something else is wrong ....the original shifter almost felt as if it wasnt attached to anything and dropped to bits when i took it out but it did change the gears smoothly

hi peeps i got my zed back the other day after 3 months of being off the road however i fitted a short shift last october as my gearstick was goosed very floppy and when i took it out it was all in bits so i used the pics off the forum and it went in a treat...it was however a bit stiff and clunky but i thought it was because it was new anyway i went out for a razz last night and when i got home and stopped to drop the missus off i couldnt get it into gear it was as if i wasnt even pressing the clutch i switched off the engine and engaged " panic mode " and when i started it up again it went into gear ok.....i tried the usual 1st gear handbrake on and lift clutch slightly and the back end squatted ok and nearlt stalled do ya reckon it was because i was giving it the teddies or is it summat more serious one thing i have noticed is if i boot it and go from 3rd to 4th with the short shift it does sometime make a small grinding noise but i put that down to me lifting off clutch too quickly as it doesnt seem to do it if i do it slowly sorry for the war and peace version but i just spent 400 squid on her and im potless many thanx in advance any advise appreciated matty

i suppose it depends on what you or someone wants to pay i gave 1600 squid for my n/a manual 2+2 with 18s and big zorsts but it aint a minter and i travelled 300 miles to pick it up and 300 miles home but i have seen some go for less but there usually in need of tlc and i did see one last year for 9 grand....weird and a shame they are worth more in bits

you will need to take all the doorcard out and its located where the seatbelt returns its a bit fiddly but you should be able to see the mechanism and see if anythings amis ..good luck buddy
