pretty sure you will find the ecu on the na is totally different to the TTs unit. some one more knowledgeable should be along soon...........

Could you get at the top bolts on the gearbox tho?

does the gear shift linkage have to be taken off in order to tilt the gear box when taking the engine out please, sorry if this seems a silly question! Car is an auto TT

Thanks greg, I am only in my first day today! so far all wiring and hoses at top of engine are off rad is out fan off, oil drained alternator off, bloody air compressor wont come off yet, must be the rear bolt ive read about, car is on blocks at present as being little I cant reach into the engine bay if its more than 6 inches off the ground, not without a stool anyway!! it took a while to label everything.

Yes its my first! the last was a 280zx engine very easy by comparison!!

in the process of taking engine out of TT auto at present, I have read the online manual and also searched all threads on the subject,and there seems to be a difference of opinion, will the engine come out simply by splitting the gearbox and leaving box in place or does the gearbox have to be dropped, also does the torque converter have to come off before pulling engine or can it be left bolted to the flywheel, many thanks in advance

Can anyone please point me to the fuel pump relay please? Just about to head off to the garage to start taking my engine out and need to de pressurise fuel lines I gather its in the drivers footwell some where but thought I would make sure before going to garage

Before pulling too hard on it remove the bolts that are under the boot trim holding it on also
