  1. Ah yeah to be fair the double din setups don't ruin the feel, its not obnoxiously large! The previous owner fitted a turbo timer in the little cubby underneath the radio so if I go that way I'll have to remove or move the timer. I don't really use it as I'm not sure how to tbh XD
  2. looks great to see the car out eating up the roads! Did you need to do much to ensure the car was road legal in France? I haven't driven over there since having a car that didn't need any prep between UK and Europe.
  3. Ah wow those Blaupunkt designs are really impressive, definitely fit the aesthetics well. Okay so the head unit should just be able to wire in on the same harness the old one had, but I need to take out and bypass that amp? Doesn't sound too bad, I hope!
  4. Hi all, I'm looking to fit a new head unit in my 1992 Z32 as I'd like to add Bluetooth functionality for calls and music (UK radio is slowly killing me). I'm pretty sure but will double check I have the original bose speakers, which I've seen online don't always play nice when trying to fit a new head unit. I'd be looking for a single din one to fill the same slot, but don't really know where to go from there. Happy for any recommended units that can interact with the car and meet the needs I am after.
  5. Happy days, I'll try to pick something up for reviving my battery! Fingers crossed it survives the month but better to be safe than sorry
  6. Sadly it won't be near any mains connections. Will be left in a secure parking area, but not anywhere near plugs. I'm thinking might just need to get a good quality battery charger/jumpstart things...I have no idea what the name is but I had one when I lived in Africa for the Land Cruiser. I would rather stop the issue from coming up, but if not possible at least that 'fixes' it again. Would the battery dying likely be the main problem I would run into, the rest of the car holding up pretty fine otherwise?
  7. Hi everyone, just a quick ask. As part of my work I have to go away quite regularly. On average it is normally only for about 1 month at a time. With my previous cars there haven't been any particular issues with leaving them for the duration, but aware these cars are a fair bit older and I guess can have more issues. Is there anything you think would be worth buying or doing with the car so that it hopefully turns over fine when I get back? As I said probably around a month at a time, anything pushing 3 months or more I'll leave it with my parents to take out for a spin every so often but I can't keep dropping it on their driveway especially as the 1 month moves can be quite short notice.
  8. Amazing thank you for all the info! I'll get to checking out the recommendations Pictures will certainly follow, starting my next job tomorrow so its been a bit manic. Will try to get some decent photos next weekend for everyone to enjoy :D
  9. Hi all, I've now picked up the Z32 and had a very enjoyable drive back home. A much more comfortable experience than the drive up in my 370! No big rush as it had a good clean before I picked it up, but just looking for any recommendations on products that you all enjoy. I've seen some very shiny Zeds during my scrolling on the forums and I'm hoping to get mine looking just as good
  10. Thank you all, sorry I thought I replied on my phone but didn't seem to work! Thanks Peage for the heads up on that, could be a really useful addition especially with the USB chargers too. There is a little sticker on top which is where I got the mileage for the last one, I can't remember of the top of my head who did it but will double check. I'm keen to just get it done as I approach 60k just for my own peace of mind
  11. Thank you and that's a good shout didn't spot you could pull it out!
  12. Also what do you all do for the severe lack of cupholders!!
  13. Hi all, I have just started the process of purchasing a 1992 Z32 and am very excited (picking it up next week if all goes well!) Just want to say hello to everyone and I am hoping to get involved in the community once I get my head into the car. Very keen to get some advice and tips starting out as to work I should look to do on the car early and parts/tools that are a must have to deal with issues that come up. The car is about 40,000 miles and apparently had a timing belt change at 32/35k (can't remember which right now) so that does reduce my stress a bit on that issues. Would probably just get it done around 60,000 still so I'm in line with the normal servicing cycle again. Otherwise it seems to be in good condition, I checked the problem areas for rust and that the various switches seem to work all fine. I have some experience working on my outgoing 370z but definitely on the more novice end so please info dump me all that you like and direct me to useful resources, I want to teach myself to keep this car running happy. Thank all and looking forward to being a part of the community Biggsy
