written on the back of your Z????
Anyone ever had anything written on the back of their Zed in the dirt? I know my car should be cleaner but i've been doing lots of miles recently... anyway, came out of Tesco's over the weekend to find someone had written... CATCH ME IF YOU CAN... On the silver rear panel at the back (quad light conversion) Made me smile! I'm just waiting for that to fade before someone writes on there: I WISH MY WIFE WAS AS DIRTY AS THIS!

Famous People with your name
Chris Walker - Current World Superbike racer. Oh yes. Went to pick some new leathers up last Friday from the shop. I said "Hi, i'm Chris Walker - here to pick up my leathers" The bloke shouts upstairs "Dave, there's a fella here to pick up some Chris Walker replica leathers..." haha Just wish I was called Valentino Rossi and really was that good!

McClaren F1 zorst - guess the price ?
If I had one.... I'd paint it Lime green... fit it with twin turbo's, NOZ and those really cool seatbelt covers that you get free with Redline magazine this month!! Then i'd tint the windows, stick on neon washer jets, fit as many 10x12's as possible and go and park it outside Icon on a friday night looking for a race... LMAO

glove box issues.....
Afternoon all. Hopefully someone can provide me with a quick and cheap solution to my Zed's new problem... the glove-box is knackered. A fat fingered friend of mine has somehow managed to destroy the mechanism that locks the glovebox in place - so it's always open. I took the glovebox off on the weekend and pulled it apart to look at the catch, but it seems properly broken and would need a new part. I reckon it's probably easier to just get a new glovebox from somewhere isn't it..? So, a) does anyone have a glovebox (preferably in that nasty grey tweed to match the rest of the nasty grey tweed) or b) know where I can get a new one reasonably cheaply or c) think of something much more exciting to put in its place... My glove box is currently on my passenger seat - which actuallly makes it a lot easier to access whilst driving... Cheers for any help, Chris

Police- over the top!!!!!
A couple of months ago I was parked up late at night in one of the less salubrious parts of Newcastle in the middle of a rather difficult conversation that basically consisted of me dumping a girl. Anyway, there I was doing the old "yes, it is sad... we were going out for all of 2 months... now stop sniffling get out my car" WHEN... a police car drives up the road, stops about 10 yds behind me and sits there for 5 mins. "B*llocks" thinks me - "producer for sure on its way here". The bobbies then drive up alongside, lower their windows and gesture for me to do the same. "ah well, a respite from the cliches" I decide, and engage in conversation with the Boys in Blue. Did they want to give me grief? No way. Did they want to know everything about it and sit there oohing and aahing for ages" Oh yes!! :D Hehehe... they're not all bad I suppose. ;)

Rta
I did that in my Westfield a couple of years back. I'd had it two days and parked it into a "no waiting" sign. Glad you're ok though. At least it wasn't the Zed on the way back!

I've got a 95 Zed... not exactly new when you consider it's 8 yrs old! Would love to have a brand new zed. zero miles and about £30,000 to mod it with. MMMmmmmmmmmmmm

Finally bought a camera.. Zed Pics after PPS!
LOL!! Yeah.. does look a bit odd with the single exit exhaust now the back end has been smoothedd over. I want to swap it for twins but it just sounds so nice and V6ey with all the cylinders exiting out of one tip..... I guess I need to find a twin pipe system that sounds the dogs danglies... suggestions, as ever, very welcome! James300 - clear indicators... bonne idee! :D

Finally bought a camera.. Zed Pics after PPS!
My Zed.... :D :D :D I originally wanted a big wing on the back, but when it didn't turn up Pete just did the lights and tail gate skin. I like the smooth look and don't think I'll get a wing now. Will go for the new arse a la MAC1 / Vijay and perhaps the smooth(er) stillen front....

Tvr cerbra? whatdya reckon??
Not flat out no... got banned on the way there unfortunately :( Wouldn't fancy doing 185 in one anyway - they don't feel too planted at very high speeds. I'm in Newcastle on the weekends actually - you may have seen my Zed around Jesmond - Silver, M -Reg with the quad light conversion. What's yours like? I've seen a red one about... You may have seen my mate's Cerb too. It was parked on Osborne road for ages. Cherry Pearl (Red) with Tuscan alloys - no plate C2 ERB. Mine was up there too but it was a while ago - Moonraker Black with the Tuscan alloys. S reg. I'll look out for you! Chris

Tvr cerbra? whatdya reckon??
I had a Cerbera 4.2 for a year before I got my Z. Wasn't too unreliable but there were always niggly things wrong with it that needed to be sorted out at the main dealer... same as the Zed generally has niggly things wrong with it, but then I lost more in a years ownership of the TVR than the purchase price of my Zed! Used it as a daily driver - okish but they don't like traffic - overheat like buggary and make you nervous as hell about sitting still - not what you imagined it would be like when you picked it up on that glorious summer's day..... As for speed - a 4.2 (my mate's still got one) will be faster than a Zed in standard form but I don't think there's much in it between my Zed and his Cerb now. My Zed is manual, has induction kit, chip, kakimoto racing exhaust - that I know of. I do think it's perhaps quite quick for a Zed but not sure by how much. Also, you've got to remember. Cerbera's are only as fast as the mags say when conditions are perfect and they are running well. Mostly they are running a touch ropey and/or can't get the power down. People say the Zeds are bad in the wet - haha... the Cerb was fun. Give it a go and see how you get on. If all else fails race him on a tour around your nearest city in rush hour. If his car doesn't overheat and worry the crap out of him and cause him to stop he'll at least be so hot and sweaty you'll have scored a different type of victory! :D

More North West pics:D
Looks like it was a good meet! Sorry I missed it, unfortunately something came up that I couldn't get out of. :( Will definitely make it to the next one - my Zed's feeling lonely!

Should I go for a look...?
Yeah - but if I like the test drive i'm going to want the car... Although a Skyline for track and a modified Zed for posing would be a niiiiice garage. ;) sod it - i'm off to have a look at it if it's still there! Wonder if my bank manager would consider a skyline an essential item??? If I manage to get a go i'll let you all know what I thought of the mondeo. :D

Should I go for a look...?
Driving from my Hotel in Shipley to Bradford this morning I saw a great big FOR SALE sign in the front window of a nice purple car by the side of the road. Unfortunately it was a... shhhh... R33 Skyline GTR... I tried looking away, but I couldn't help myself.... I've got to go back that way this avo to head up to Newcastle.... should I stop for a look...? It's an S reg - how much is one of those roughly? (obv. no idea of mileage as but it looked in v. good condition) Help me - I love my Zed but I love Skyline's too!! Someone think of a reason why I should or shouldn't stop!!

TVR vs Z
If you're saving up for a Cerb, make sure you save for a year or two more after you've reached the purchase price.... for running costs! I lost 8.5k on mine (2yrs old when I got it) in a year. My mate has lost (depreciation) and spent (running costs) about 20k in nearly 2 years of ownership. Ouuuch. That's why I got rid of mine. But - they are awesome cars. Would love to have another one but purely as a weekend toy. 4.5 Red Rose this time though!! :D
-
TVR vs Z
eh? I wish! The V8 Cerbera's (4.2 and 4.5) have detuned Tuscan race engines (although it's the 4.5 that is actually raced with). That's the racing tuscan open top thing- not the road car. Flat plane crank, sound like a bag of nails when cold- the whole lot. The road going Tuscans and the Cerbera Speed 6 have 4 litre straight sixes in 'em. No V8 and certainly no F1 V10!!!! As for speed - I sold my Cerb (4.2) and bought a Zed. It has to be said there's not much in it when rolling and on boost - further evidenced by the fact that my mate still has a Cerb (4.2 again) and can't get too far away from me :D But.. unfortunately I do think my Cerb was faster than my zed (even with some stuff done to the zed). Thing is - the 4.5's waaay different and would waste most cars. No question. But my bike on the other hand....;) Raced my mate from the lights a couple of weeks back ... slow get away but then when the revs got round to about 9/10k..... see... you...later..... Oh yeah - and Hairsy's right - TVR's cost a f*cking fortune to run! For me the Zed AND the bike is a means to save money!

Journey to PPS
Get yourself in Tiger Tiger on the Saturday night. I think they've deployed a very potent honey magnet in the area. It's rammed with talent! And if you get lucky - there ain't no need for a B+B! ;)

WHOOO! she is back from PPS:D
Looks awesome mate! I'm thinking that rear end could go nicely alongside a 99 spec front to get the smooth look i'm aiming for with my Zed..... I know what someone meant about the rears though.... some moulded mudflaps might be the order of the day. Actually - can't decide. Give it time... Couple of questions.... Is that rear only available in WIDE ARSE form? Do you think you could modify it to take a big single exhaust tip on either side instead of twins? The Stillen Beast just keeps getting better....

One hot Evo on dyno vid.
The manifold on my Cerbera would glow when you revved it standing still. I had an RAC man come out once when one of the fans wasn't coming on... he just went "cooooooll... the manifold's glowing - that's awesome..i've never seen that...." It did not fill me with confidence that he was the answer to my prayers.....

Black or Silver
Go silver. Much better IMO. I've got a silver Zed and kindof Chromed wheels... Now we're talking... BLING BLING! In fact, here's a picture (bit dark, taken sat evening) Have finally got myself a digital camera and will now innudate the board with photo's... well, if the RIDES section ever starts working again!

Skyline - 300zx compare
God, I wish I hadn't read all that about Skyline's. I keep telling myself I don't like how they look and that I prefer my Zed. But i've recently found myself hopping onto the GTR forum every now and then. I love my Zed, think it's the best looking Jap sports car out there and love the booooOOOOOOOST but I can't stop thinking that all the most extreme and absolute fastest cars on the road are Skyline's.... I know i'd miss my Zed as soon as I sold it and I have no intention of selling it soon but if I won the lottery, a Bayside Blue GTR-34 with LOTS of mods would be parked in my garage (i'd have one of those too!) very quickly!! Of course, it'd be parked behind the best Zed in the country... :D
