  4. :hyper: Dude tell me more
  5. Looks the *****cks Chris LOL. Did give me more "torque" on the way home and an extra 4 bhp.
  6. I have already got a nice 9 band Laser detector which is good for 1 mile (line of sight) detection. I also want the Angel because with the detectors you cannot really tell if its picking up a real signal or the doors on Safeways opening and closing. Due to this I tend not to relie on just the detector alone.
  7. Good call Cos. Me mate has just bought one and Iam gettin one next week. Mabee if we get enough orders we could well get a discount
  8. LOL. You know what Zack. I forgot all about them and when I eventually got back to the Wirral (midnight). I pulled in to a petrol station and everyone was staring at me. At first I though me fly was open or somethin. Paid the cashier got back into the car still without noticing (I was a zombie at this point). A Cavalier pulled up to me revving his engine, then wheel spinning right next to me. I thought you ****er, then had no choice to toast him. In the morning I was thinking what the hell happened last night. Opened the front door and my jaw dropped. NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don’t tell me that I drove around with them on FFS. Instantly I pulled them off and stuck them on me bro's Maestro. (looking good). You must have a pic so everyone else knows what the hell we are taking about. Don’t suppose you have any photo's of that day, and if poss that Scooby doing the drifting.
  9. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  10. Guess What Steve at CAS has just removed all of the followers, only to find out that they are all tight or stuck open. He has ran a leak and compression test with cams out, all is ok. Thank F**k for that. Its cost me another £300 plus a fiver for the petrol can lol. My baby should be back very soon. COME ON
  11. I asked them did they check that the valves were closed prior to fitting the heads. They got round this by saying they did not check this due to fitting the cams AFTER the heads were bolted down. They did not do a leak test until the engine was fully assembled. I told them that I rebuilt the heads and that I had them pressure tested. So based on my info they did not check them. Fare enough Andy, Its a total cockup job. I should of either done the whole thing myself or got you to do it. Whats done is done though, I can only try and resolve it as cheap as poss. Andy I will still require you assistance as and when the top is stripped yet again. It should be ready either later on today or Wednesday. Scoops have you not sold it yet
  12. If your running on 5 mate, your doing OK. Where the feck is OBEN?. I know were Wally is
  13. AAARRRAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! Come see what daddys got for ye
  14. Chris just been up there and the Plenum is half off. This meens Andy wont be able to test it on Saturday and I will have to spend more hard earned cash.
  15. Alex I think its more than carbon build-up mate, as if the valve wasn’t sitting perfectly. My compression wouldn’t be great but It would be better than 45-50. I either have bent valves or the followers are rock solid causing the valves to open prematurely. Running some ATF through the oil system could well cure it, but CAS will not allow this.
  16. Burn Baby Burn!!!!!!!!!!!   5 litre can should do it.
  17. I know its in the wrong place but I really need your help. I have posted the info in the help and advice section
  18. Help!!!!! Major Compression Problem 6 ½ months in the making, and its F**KED. I have had a total rebuild from head to toe. Tried firing it up last week to find it was only running on 3 cylinders. Compression test show that cyl 2,3, and 4 are all below 50. “CAS” Rebuilt the bottom and I built the top. They say that the bottom is bomb proof so they are blaming the heads. They are implying that I have not seated the valves in properly or that the valves are bent. I can assure you that neither of these are the case. I have rebuilt dozens of engines using the same techniques with no problems whatsoever. CAS have said if it’s not the valves then it must be the followers. I stripped down the followers and cleaned then out, also blew them through with an airline. Again this is common practice and has not caused problems in the past. After stripping them I reassembled them using a small amount of std engine oil, and tested that they still function correctly by pushing down on the small piston. The ones I found to be stiff, I drained some oil out and tried again until they were perfect. CAS are saying because I used std engine oil and not 3 to 1, the valves are being forced open all the time hence the reason for bad compression. Don’t get me wrong, I know how these things work and if one was block indeed it would hold open the valve. The problem I have now is that CAS want to strip down the engine again and rebuild all the followers, resulting in a massive amount of cash. It will also take another month due to their busy workload. Don’t forget they have had my car since October 2003. :mac1: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Can any one think of ANYTHING else it might be, as I am flat broke and want to drive my baby once again. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: PS. I bought the heads of a trusty member, so unless he was misinformed then they should be A1. I want to take the car elsewhere, but Iam worried that if anyone else touches it. CAS will void the warranty. Next step involves a petrol can and a match. "This is no jest"
  19. If you kick there arses, never know we might have both of them back
  20. Looks like us boys will be going in a 406 mate, so no probs keeping up. Chris's car was dropped off last night (well towed from the wirral on a piece of string) at C&S Woods. Fingers crossed the new box will be in by COB Friday. My car fired up for the first time today. Poor little thing has teething probs (damm connectors) going to try some Calpol tomorrow to see if it will keep its dummy in. Tell you what though the engine looks a picture, with all the blue hoses and polished plenum. Think its a bit risky driving to Bristol in her on Saturday. So 406 here we come. Zack I will bell you Friday mate, to arrange something.
  21. pussies mate
  22. So me and Chris are the only ones from the NW going??
  23. Anyone arranged a convoy for Saturday?. M53 Chester Services or M6 services take your pick. Would be good to to get on film too.
  24. Same old story, if the motor runs I will be there along with a small crew
  25. Fingers crossed....I may be there in my mechanically propelled vehicle. If not it will be BMX as usual
