  8. Some info on both here, pros n cons for either type,.. Bench racing around the driver's club guys, the aluminum shafts last about a year before becoming toast. Reason 3) Load. I'm doing everything I can to get my hp to stick to the ground. The sales pitch on CF says it delivers the load better (flex charicteristics). 1) Carbon Fiber IS lighter than Aluminum 2) Aluminum is still lighter than stock counterparts. 3) Carbon fiber Driveshafts makes less noise than the aluminum counterparts. 4) Aluminum Driveshafts makes a strange tinging noise, kinda annoying, much noisier than stock ones. 5) I have the aluminum one and had not too good of an experience with them unless you dont mind a little noise and some more vibration than the stock parts. 6) Power'Z'lide (derek) has the carbon-fiber driveshaft, ask for a second opinion, I hang out with him every sunday, he absolutly loves that carbon fiber driveshaft. He said it make a big difference The aluminum shaft has many advantages over the carbon steel shafts that most people are not aware of. The most obvious being the fact that its 1/3 less weight, but the other things that make it attractive is that its resonant frequency properties are much higher. What this means to you is a steel shaft may amplifie a vibration where a aluminum one will dampen a vibration. The other thing is that an aluminum shaft torsionaly twists 19 degrees and a steel shaft only twist 5 degreed. What this means to a hot rod is the shaft will have a more dampened affect taking the shock load out of the drive train making it more fluid feeling. Shafts can be made to handle power from mild to wild. and some info here, http://www.pstds.com/critical-link.cfm Tony :)
