The timing was at 17 degrees with the tickover just shy of 1000rpm , if you want to bring it over we can put the timing back a little? I would have a look at john dixons post about setting up a boost controller? Change the take off point for the boost controller Change that dodgy boost hose. Change the mystery spark plugs

I think it all depends how old it is, they are a piece of equipment that needs servicing, I think a lot of people believe they are unfalliable, and only find out when there is a a ton or two of car suffocating them.

Hi Stu, There are no hard and fast rules, but I think it would be courteous to let charlie have the deposit as he would have put time aside for a certain number of people and to have a absent slot would mean a loss to him?
