Insurance Quote. big thanks to Houghton
I just want to say that insurance is totally *****cks. I'm with AON. Age 37 (was),5 years ncb, jap tt with exhaust declaired, not garaged, clean licence. £585. Classic policy. But according to some people, AON wouldn't do a classic policy for a jap spec. You read on here of someone with same spec as yourself getting insured for £600, & when you ring them it's £895. What I did was compile an A4 size list full of numbers off this forum then booked a day off work & sat down with a brew & the phone & got ringing. Adrian Flux said AON were taking the piss but people on here are insured for a lot less. It's just luck on the day.

Carbon fibre instrument panel
The Stillen site sell these but I seem to remember that they're not cheap. They actually come with the Z centre kit but arn't shown on the web site, this is expensive too. Bought it myself for Christmas & I can't decide whether I like it now.

Any Pink Floyd men out there?
I saw the Australian Pink Floyd last night. Damn good. If you'd shut your eyes you'd have sworn it was Floyd.

In that case I should be ok with the 25 litres of 5/30 grade fullt synthetic that my mate got me cheap from work. I don't mean all at once :p

Insomniac, Your not alone. Lots of people have a thing about automatics, it's because their dad had it and his dad before. I've spoke to people who say they'd never have an auto but have never driven one. I love mine. Try one.

Thanks Dr Duff
Big thanks to Andy For fitting my cam belt kit this weekend in the freezing wind. After 2 months off I'm finally back on the road & loving it. Cheers Andy. Also thanks to Matt J for entertaining us by showing us how badly he fits in the front of a Z ( for anyone who doesn't know him, he's 6"5 & not skinny). A good day & a good result in a freezing kind of a way. :)

Any embarrassing cars?
 I had a Daf 66 variomatic. It had elastic bands to drive the back wheels. It could go as fast backwards as forwards, I think that takes some beating.

Alarm
Cheers Stu, I was only worried about whether the alarm would work if I cut any wires. But now as you've mentioned it, if the battery's disconected when the job is done then the alarm shouldn't be affected. Cheers mate. :)

Alarm
Cheers oneday, but what I actually meant was that the light & the buttons have to come off the wires because they will not fit through the holes which they sit in
-
Alarm
I'm in the middle of fitting my carbon kit & I need to get the alarm light & little button out to fit the next bit. Does anyone know what to do here. I'll probably relocate them but I daren't disconect them to get them out. Cheers anyone :)

Don't forget to add your vat on Dixon John, already making it into a £200 project before you get it on the car.
