black zed in romford yesterday about 13.40.2 cars back, turned off before gallows corner.you might have seen me, i was in the silver zed with venom rear lights.

on the road, at least til the end of may when the tax runs out. smoking and misfiring on and off but still goes like stink when firing on 6.

did clarkson ever do a bit about the zed on top gear? i'd like to get a copy if he did

hi chunk if you could have proved that your gt6 was manufactured before the 5.1.73 registration date you had a case for free tax. i had a 1955 cadillac coupe de ville which was taxed (free) as a historic vehicle.mind you it was a 5.2 litre and that did 10 to the gallon,not much less than the zed.

no, i've just put some injector cleaner in it just in case it could be a simple clean out job but i don't hold out much hope. i did change 3 connectors and it did make a slight difference where it runs a bit more on 6 but it still keeps reverting to 5 and back.now as you can see i've got more problems. i think i'm going to subscribe and put it up for sale as it is, i'm fed up with it being too unreliable.plus bricks and mortar is another factor now. thanks for all your help along the way though, i must say that without this club i would probably have thrown in the towel ages ago, it's excellent.

thanks for the info lads. as i said i thought it was probably one or the other. if it's just the pcv valves that's not too bad, if it's turbo seals......it'll be a case of ' does anyone wanna buy a SMOKEY ZED?'

i've seen a couple of threads about this and i'm fairly sure i know the answer but need a prod in the right direction.the car smokes on tickover, or at lights, and i mean SMOKES.however when i put my foot down it's ok.i have read that it could be the pcv valves need replacing but if i replace these will i also need to replace anything else like the 'rear seal'? or,is it the seals on the turbos?what sort of cost am i looking at for any of these replacements? just one other question, could any of these be a reason for occasional misfire?

43 when i got mine - had it 2y 6m and it's aged me 5 years

well heres an update; just got hold of some 2nd hand coilpack connectors yesterday and replaced 3 broken ones and it fired up on all 6.took it for a run and it would occasionly drop to 5 and then pick up again. hopefuly i'm on the right track now.

hi everyone, after fitting my delimiter i have noticed that my speedo,trip meter and odometer are not working.i removed the clocks again to check for anything loose etc but after refitting its still the same any ideas please?

hi guys sorry for the late reply,i checked the ecu and nowt came up so i figured the electrics were ok. this is going to sound so pathetic and useless but reading the last thread from cpt. burberry i hadn't realised that the injectors came off the rail , i thought that it was one unit so to speak. i have just removed the middle injector off of the old rail to replace the faulty one on the fitted rail. well, you live and learn! just need to pop down to the local krap nissan dealer and get plenum gasket and start all over again.many thanks to ya!! oh yes just to add to the never ending list of things to do, iv'e fitted my delimiter and guess what, the speedo, mileometre and trip have stopped working so out come the clocks again! the zed is not a problem it's a fecking adventure!

i had this problem with mine too,it wouldn't open on the lever but ok on the key. it turned out that the rear spoiler was water sodden and it was too heavy to pop up.as i had decided to ditch the rear spoiler and go smooth anyway i found that it popped up fine once the spoiler was off

yes i have swapped the problem of the d/side rear to the d/side middle .any ideas how much a new injector rail is?

i will have to check the ecu code thing later as i'm at work at the moment

thanks for the info, the coilpack is ok, i have checked and used a spare i had anyway.as for connectors i know that some are broke due to heat but even they work ok except the d/side middle.if i pull either the coilpack connector or the injector connector off whilst the engine is running there is no change in engine idle

thanks for the info andy. i had already bought the delimeter a while ago and have only just fitted it. i do remember reading a thread about it a while back but couldn't remember the comments,at least i now know why this happens.cheers
