It kinda goes hand in hand If you stop smokeing then you can potentialy save a lot of money each week, but you don't want to so you buy cheaper fags and that allows you to spend your budget in other places better, as an individual you budget and control your money because you have to. The government don't budget they just take more from the tax payer. Now petrol prices are possibly the easyest and most visual tax to complain about, we all need it, so to make a stand against taxes you pick the most visual, just the same as when the government needs more money they put tax up on the easy targets like fuel beer and smokes, now we don't complain about beer and fags too much because we have a choice as not to buy them, but we all need petrol to get to work and pay our taxes. So to answer your question, yes I want fuel taxes to drop, yes i want the government to manage our taxes better so they don't have to put up taxes so often and we as a population can afford to live life and enjoy ourselves because we have more money in our pocket to spend in shops and pubs and that then boosts the economy thus allowing the government to collect more tax as VAT. And no the protest is not pointless, it shows the government that the populus is unhappy and willing to stand against them, i:e next election, and boot them out

Your right they wont go anywhere because there are too many people in this god forsaken country that say, "well the money has to come from somewhere" well it does but if it was spent in a better way then we would have lower fuel prices and less stealth taxes, your NI contibutions would be better spent. As Nickz32 says why should the police pay premium prices because some idiot is takeing back handers The government are willing to throw 50billion at northern rock but can't spend 30 million on the police force to give them a decent pay rise. We have nearly twice the civil servants that the USA have and a fifth of the polulation, all these government bodies are takeing a cut out of your pocket. Power to the people? The only power is going to the ruling minority and the people are paying for it.

Some of you may know (and most of you are bored of hearing about) I am off to Australia in the new year :hyper: Now the thing is, I will be getting another Zed in Aus but it will be hard to find a LWB as most seem to be shorties. What I would like to know is what are the the diferences of the two cars? Why not just get a Blitz rev speed metre thats wired into the ecu and get accurate readings, mine did speed, revs, 0-60, 0-100, quater mile times, mile times and all sorts.
