How do you guys go for ages with out your Z?

I have been Z'less for 4 days and I hated it. I think my car didnt like sitting on the drive not being used, and some of you go months maybe a year with out it. frown.gif

I hardly turned the key to start it and she was running. I dont think it even turned over. biggrin.gif

I know how you feel, my clutch went completely 3 weeks ago, have the new clutch, but syill waiting for the flywheels to arrive, so no Z for 3 weeks and counting frown.gif going off my trolly as the weather has been so good lately.

My S13 is on and off the road a fair bit, has been since billing now, 8 weeks ish. frown.gif But nearly done after extensive go faster, handles better surgery. smile.gif biggrin.gif

But back to the point, a few times it's been off the road for a few days to a couple of weeks, and this does my head in.

However after about 3-4 weeks you kinda get over it a bit.

The reason being i think is that for the first couple of weeks you really miss driving it, (my second car is a BMW 316) then as time goes on you forget exactly how much fun it is.

On the plus side I do all my own work so at least I know it's being done (and I get to see it every night biggrin.gif), and not just stuck in a pound gathering moss only then to pay through the nose to get it back.

Yeah Jezz is spot on here. Mine blew a radiator last november. Took 4 months to get the end caps to have a new uprated one made up. That hurt. Kept myself interested mainly by pulling the car apart biggrin.gif Then after 2 weeks of being back on the road, this happened:-

Notice the boost guage - yep that's full throttle. I'd seized a turbo. The car is STILL off the road due to very long waits for parts etc but will be back soon. I've spent a LOT of time stripping everything down to a certain level to check everything was still to spec etc. This has kept my interest up but now I just want it back on the road. The only trouble is, is it worth it to tax the car for 6 months of ice, snow, rain etc and all the salt on the roads... I'm not so sure. There's still plenty of mods to be done so might just keep saving and fitting till the jobs done proper...

Does this help??? hehe

Mine been of road for a week now...........awaiting uprated autobox.......goes in tuesday...............cant kin wait to get it back...........been driving a micra.....not much difference there then!!!!

Living with this car is a complete pain.......I have nearly jacked it in once or twice.....seem to keep going with it though!

Drugs, booze and cheap cheap women to pass the time till it is back on the road! Driving a Micra loan car keeps it in perspective why it is worth waiting for.

i was without my car for about 5 months waiting for bits from japan etc when the engine broke. but the feeling from going from a 1.3 astra to a tt 300 is worth the wait. bit like a bungy jump - cant wait to do it, but wot a feeling when done - wooooooowwwww.

Im gonna have to wait a little more now.

My clutch is going and I have to save up for it.

Bank loans dont like students frown.gif

Mainly because I have a company car to throw miles at instead. There's nearly 19000 miles on the Company Car that ISN'T on my Zed. biggrin.gif But she does come out for the longer cruises. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

And this morning....I was actually GLAD I wasn't in the Zed when a great lorry decided he needed all 3 lanes on the roundabout to turn right and I had to go up on the kerb. With the Zed I wouldn't have had a side left.... eek.gif
