Took my car in to get my autobox oil changed 2day and the oil that came out was a dark black  but also had alot of tiny silver bits in it. was told this could be wear off the clutch's in it and gear box doesnt have long left in it..maybe less then a few weeks! any ideas at if this could be something smaller? or is it gonna have to be a new box?

start saving:(

Black oil=burnt oil=slipping. Sometimes flushing the oil a few times with automatic transmission fluid can make a short term difference but long term it will fail no doubt.

Mine has a nachered 3rd gear, I managed to get a manual car, will be shortly using the manual box to convert mine and have broke the car for spares and got some money back. Another option to look at rather than shelling out a lot either on an overhaul or a 2nd hand box that could fail tomorrow.

Plenty options to look at though.
