Just realised today that my car has indiglow sill/kick plates fitted but not wired in. So I did something a bit stoopid :o after removing one I decided that I would see if it lit up and put it straight to 12 volts. Guess what nothing happened. Then in a flash of inspiration I realised it should have an inverter. So 2 questions, does it mean I have knackered it by putting it straight to 12v and secondly if I haven't can I buy invertors alone?

You cant get the invertor for the kick plates. They were sold by Smithy but the guy who suplied the inverters and indiglow plates disapeared. Danny from DTA was trying to get new inverters and plates to repair the ones that went wrong under garentee but to no sucsess.

 

Sorry you have red lettered sill plates like the rest of us.

Try somewhere like maplins. They will do inverters. Just a case of looking for the right one.

I've 2 invertors left! There's also a member of here who has them, i'll ask if he's happy for me to publish his name in case he can supply ?

The original supplier of the invertors from the US was and is a complete waste of space, no idea what the gaurantee limit was on them.

 

Are yours confirmed as a broken down invertor ?

At the mo, funkyboogalooo's sills arn't wired up correctly or owt that he knows off.

Mine are just sat on the sills doing nothing no wires connected at all. Failing that if I could get the spec on the inverters like has been said maybe Maplins or RS could supply something?
