at what speed does the spoiler really come into play? i'm thinking of removing mine - some days i think zeds look better without some dayz i think its better with. my boot sometimes swims, and i dont' really want to glue it on to the metal of the boot - and i've replaced the rubber seals.

could it be worth fabricating one that lifts up at a certain speed, like the old porsches do? nice winter project.

SWB can look better without a spoiler, but, IMHO, the LWB needs something at the back with it's longer body and larger bumper overhang. Mine originally came from Japan spoiler-less and never felt it looked right, so added a 99-spec.

Spoilers only really work on cornering speeds of over about 70 I think.

The stock spoiler is there to reduce positive lift by cleaning the path of air where it leaves the rear of the car. It does'nt create downforce.

I've personally not noticed any ill-affect from no spoiler at double the max legal road speeds.

I have not noticed any handling difference since removing that 'orrible Veilside spoiler, but I can see out the back now. At the moment I quite like the smoothie look, but time will tell.

old zed,

where u get them Advans from?

i had exactly the same on my old car, but had to spray em myself as never seen them from the factory like that.

They were on the car when I bought it. The previous owner (Sasha) was bought them by her husband and he also bought himself a set for his shortie, which was written off recently and I have one of his wheels as my spare. They are a standard (Advan) finish I think.

so, it means the car slips through the air easier?

wouldn't reducing the amount of air flowing under the car do the same thing?
