Just wondering who uses AndyP or John Dixon chips. I've kept the options anonymous. I hear geat reviews from most people. I just want people to respond who have either chips of various levels of aggressiveness.

Thanks.

Neither, but when i have the supporting mods i want, ill be employing JD to do a custom map for me

Agreed. I still have some sensors to renew, in addition to what I've suggested about. I some new plugs and a pop charger and I'm ready for the chip and controller.

Those that run 14PSi on a JD/AP chip, what's the 'wow' factor over stock. My car used to be quicket when running unlimited bost which lent to eventual engine rebuild.

List your supporting engine mods. Like mine?

From memory mate, the difference is huge. Makes for a completely different driving experience

You running boost controller Dave?

No just got the crappy boost jets. 1.1 bar max. You will not believe how much it will change your car. even tho 90% of the time you dont use the power

I dont know what you have mate, So far ive done

Induction Kit (Stillen)

Larger throttle bodys

down pipes and decats

Kakimoto exhaust

RPS clutch

One piece lightened fly wheel

AMS Rad

Hard pipes

To be done

Z1 side mount intercoolers

620cc Injectors (Nismo 555's but im on the later style injectors, so they flow 620)

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator

AMS lightened pully kit

Electronic Boost Controller

Once these are on, then ill get JD to map it for me. Not aiming for max bhp, i want throttle response as quick as i can get it, mid range punch and a linear delivery. then ill be happy

Stock internals? I'm not really after figures. An indication is nice, but want to feel it out in the road. The real places.! I have a new engine-ish (jimmer-built) with very good turbos, so imagine mine will respond pretty well. Just got to get the car run its absolute best!

stock internals and tubs mate. Thats precisely what i want. Im certainly not interested in chasing figures. Driveability is key for me, hence why i want a custom map as apposed to a "popular" one.

The reason im uprating the above, i want everything to have a a comfortable margin away from their limit. As you well know intercoolers and injectors are soooo very close to 100% at 1 bar, which i dont want them to be. The other mods are hopefully to aid the drivability factor, keep the throttle reponse sharp, and hopefully give me the linear power delivery i want

Engine wise i am stock. with a good solid engine and turbos

i have a

Blitz ind kit

Decats

ab flug 3" exhaust

The andyp chip at 1.1bar

The differance it amazing, It become a best but you will soon get use to the power again.

It shaves about a second ot the 60 and about 2 secs off the 100

So even if you're driving normally without much boost, it's still noticable? Even with just a chip? I'll be running the chip for a few weeks just to be sure that everything's spot-on before fitting an EBC.

Definatly. the throttle reponce and low end grunt is super i very rarely go over 0.5 of a bar, there isnt much need,

Then on the twisties you can keep it in 4 or 5th and you will still have a blast.

Keep it in 3rd if you want to go mental :wack:

Bit more than mine then. Cats are staying on. I have my 3" exhaust though.

With the andy p chip it states it should have a free flowing exhaust (which you have) and to be decatted.

Not sure what affects it would have having the cats on. i presume you would have to run a slightly lower boost

Quite a few run with without and don't seem to have any problems.

i used to have a JD fitted and i was happy with it. im running an off-the-shelf Zworx chip for my 555 injectors at the moment, but once im happy with the engine work then i'd like to take it somewhere for a damn good tuning.

I have a JD chip in mine, and the same in my last TT.
