...does any extra work need to be carried out to get them to fit in terms of the arches etc? im aiming for something like 285/30 on the rear and 245/35 on the front. could do with a bit more grip ;)

I have 19" fitted with 245/35(f) and 265/30® and they went on with no extra work required. HTH.

I had 8.5" x 19" (245/35/19) fronts with 9.5" x 19" (265/30/19) in the past. Lowered by about 45mm. No issues other than having to change one of the screws on the front arch liner to prevent it rubbing.

Is it just me... When I went from 16" to 19" the car seemes like it was higher from the ground than before. Not talking about the arches. But side/front/back seemed like it was higher from the ground than before with the 16"....

It will be but not by alot. Good excuse to get it lowered :cool:

I have 265 on the rear, im sure you could get and extra size or 2 up

I have 275s on the back of mine and they are 9.5" wide.

 

IMHO, perfect size for the width. You get a nice flat tyre wall. :)

they seem to be a good price, even with an extra £100 for Avons. its a similar style to what im looking for.

They look quite nice yeah. But I'd suggest paying the bit extra and getting the 245s and 275s. They'll look very rubberband-ish with narrower tyres with those profiles on that diameter of wheel.

thanks for the input - ive asked them if they can do either without tyres or with 245/275. next job is discs calipers and pads to suit them!
