Depends on what mods have been done on both cars, I think the supra is a tad quicker acceleration wise in standard form.

The Supra is marginally quicker, but then its stock boost is set at 11psi, whereas the 300zx stock boost is set at just 9psi.

Both cars running same boost with same mods then there is nothing between them.

NO!! I thought that might be the case.

What are we quicker than in the jap game, Sti impreza's, evo 6's (doutfull) rx7's and so on.

RX7's and RX8's are no way in the league of a 300, other day one tried it on with me, was a brand new RX8, looked the sporty version (if there is one) i killed it every time he even attempted to put his foot down

RX7;s are a lot quicker than RX8's though.

All the big engined jap coupes are all similar performance tbh - 300zx, Supra, RX7, GTO, GTR

The Evo, impreza, Gtir are'nt as quick on the move and dont have the top ends. There so many different bloody versions of the things these days though you never know.

this is nice to know, I cant wait till a someone in a 350z tries it, I use to have one so I know how slow they are. Iv had a 230bhp rx8 as well and we could eat one for breakfast in reverse!!

Id say on a day to day basis the biggest challanger would be Impreza's as they are everywhere but like you said, once we'r rolling there history

PMSL at your top comment, that made me laugh so hard, "we could eat for breakfast in reverse"

Impreza's standard are easy to beat on straights, its when you get to those horrible things called roundabouts and bends they slip away from you

The TT supra has larger injectors as standard, 440cc compared to our Z TT 370cc.

Ours max out @ 350~390BHP, I'd guess the Supras max out the far side of 400BHP.

Saying that, I'm not sure how efficient their turbos are at higher boost levels, but if it's anything like ours they're terrible @ 17++psi LOL

Way too generalising. Only the old Gen1 2.0 Turbos are easy-ish to beat stock/stock. 2nd and 3rd Gen STis and WRXs will be waving bye byes to. The Z isn't the quickest thing on the road Murt!! LOL

You and shaddow sound like a couple of year 7 kids on the school playing field playing 'Top Trumps'! ;)

Yeh but lets all be honest who would want to be seen in a Supra? Fugly in my opinion.

M

Must say, I'm not that keen on the Supra styling. It's the lorry-like dashboard which I really dislike the look of.

There are some nice Supras about, but you need to do more than just lower it and fit some bigger wheels to make them look sexy because they just look like jellybeans otherwise.

I prefer (and really like) the MK2 Supra.

Not quite Si. The Later gen cars were more powerfull, but also heavier. About same stock power as a TT and only a little lighter. But from a smaller engine with a peaky powercurve and 4wd transmission losses.

They definatly lose out on mid-range and top end acceleration.

My Brother-in-law has a 2003 STi - 280bhp I believe. It feels very short geared to drive and I found it disappointing on straight line performance.

I remember Paul@SWZ driving my old NA (!) and being all over the backend of an Evo on the motorway that was flatout accelerating and was holding us up !

But then they have all these "special" versions, and the same for the Evo too....that would show up a stock TT at legal speeds.

A bloke in my street has the mk2 , personally i prefer the later model .

but i must say Si i agree with u on the interior front much prefer the z in that respect

Later STis were 300bhp iirc Dave. They'll dash to 60 in under 5 seconds from what I recall.

Yeh, its all about the launch (and you wont get that without some high rev clutch dropping at the lights). Once moving they dont have the legs, not the standard models anyway.

I prefer (and really like) the MK2 Supra.
