Slave cylinder

Hey fellow Zeders.

The Biting piont on my clutch was getting lower and lower until i could not get the car in gear. Had a little check myself but remembered i joined the AA so got the man out to have a look.

He told me i have a leaking slave cylinder so i topped up with fluid and got the car home.

Phoned my local Nelson and they are booked up til next week and sounded like they didn't have a clue about the 300zx, couldn't even give me an idea of the price.

Does anybody know if its a big job and if i can trust any clutch specialist to do the job as i need the car as soon as poss.

Cheers

Tristan

id say SE, but they are probably booked up for the next 300 years wink.gif. honestly have no idea, how far are you prepared to travel, not far id guess cos u got a dodgy clutch wink.gif

Its nothing at all to fit, any buffoon could do it but bleeding can be tricky. Remember there is 2 points to bleed it, one on the inner wing and one on the cylinder, you have to bleed each several times to get the air out.

If you take it to a clutch centre tell them about this cos they might not know about the one on the inner wing.

Give Jeff at ZedWorld a ring.

Hi,

Slave cylinder replacement is really easy (and thats coming from me who aint too clever mechanically). Its on the outer casing of the gearbox and can be removed in about 10 minutes flat, I've had mine off twice and it really is not difficult.

As mentioned bleeding the system can be a bit tricky and remember the bleed valve next to the power steering reservoir, but well possible to do at home.

Damn. My mechanic bleed the part thats located near/on the gearbox (dont know exactly). Whats the other one called? Where is it?

I have the same problem as well. Biting point is very low.

Which one my mechanic bleed then. The inner wing or the one on the cylinder?

Can you give me some instructions how to do the other one?

Nitropow

you will find the other bleed point on the drivers side inner wing, you need to bleed the cylinder then the inner wing then repeat the procedure a few times untill all the air is out.
