When I was AUTO 12.1sec 1/4. Now I am MANUAL 13.6

Thats a big dfference. Of course I need lots of practice to lower my times.

But I am not worrying much cause I am not a 1/4 mile racer.

One good think now is that from a roll MANUAL its a killer. smile.gif smile.gif

Jeez I would sell my eldest daughter for a 12.1sec 1/4mile. What the hell have you done to the car to get those times.

Basically I am stage III+

a) JWT ECU

b) Blitz induction kit

c) BB Triflo 2.5"

d) Level-10 Billet Converter

e) Boost controller set to 14.5 PSI

Thats what I have on my car

I was running 12.8 with my AUTO. The drop came after Level-10 bilet converter installation. I always did runs

And not only that 0-100Km 4.1 sec (AUTO)

Now the best i did is 5.0 sec (MANUAL)

I am not complaining or anything. I knew it before hand that i wont be able to go that low with MANUAL.

But what I like now is that I can beat most of the cars on the highway. Something I couldnt do before because AUTOs die after 100-120 mph. Whereas MANUALS get into the game smile.gif smile.gif

I would be very happy with that, I would trade my eldest pet duck for it - but I would be very happy if i had a zed that could pull that off!! smile.gif

..hang on a minute lads... I got a great idea..

Those times are incredible for a car with that level of mods; Where did you run and have you got the tickets.

I reckon that I can launch better than most people in my manual and the best I have run is 13.5 at the Pod, my mods are similar to yours and I have 357 RWBHP.

I haven't seen any body get in to the 12's apart from Malcolm (12.8)who had the same mods as me but ran Nitrous.

Whats a Level-10 Billet Converter?

i suspect this is not on a proper 1/4 mile but with one of the speed meters or id meters, and we all know how accurate those are rolleyes.gif

Show us your time slips id really like to see your 60 foot times , oh and what were your trap speed times?

12.1 sec was with blitz ID meter.

But to verify this I wanted to put my car to the test. There was a performance magazine here in my country with proper 1/4 counter and I wanted to go and test it. That was 2 months ago. I did a run 12.31 sec. Run was during the evening with temp at about 26 Celcious. I also used some Octane booster.

Best time that day was from an RX-7 12.2x something.

But I believe those times are pretty accurate.

Point now is that I cant get even close to 12s smile.gif

Dont forget that 12.1 (Blitz-ID) is when I was AUTO. When I was stock I was running 13.9 something. (AUTO)

But I am telling you. This Level-10 Billet converter its a killer for a 1/4 mile.

I know a guy at tt.net who did 11.1sec with a few more mods than mine. I think his stall speed was 4000RPMS as far as i remember.

Its used for AUTO tranny. The one i've got stall speed is 3000RPMs. It works in a similar way as slipping clutch on MANUAL.

From standing still you can lock the converter at higher RPMS giving you the advandage to build up more boost.

Did you have a run with any kind of meter that was far away from reality? What was the difference between the meter times and track times?

I would like to know if someone else has.

I also have multi-speed turbo timer that can take 1/4 mile times but thats inaccurate. I know for sure. smile.gif

My trap speed when I went to test my car for the magazine was 187Km/h. 60 foot times uknown. I wasnt given any.

well i have a blitz id meter and you can rig them to do whatever youwant really.

you have to have them set up on a weigh brige. My point being if it is not correctly set up it can give any figure you want it to.Mine is always about 1.4 secs slower than when i went down the 1/4 mile. I personally would not take any figure it gives as accurate to say the least. When we had the car on the dyno it was quite a bit out on the power figure and i have set mine up on a weigh bridge ect.

at the end of the day go to a 1/4 mile and do comparrison runs, and i think youll find it is out by quit a bit.

OK I'm getting back to being happy again now that I heard all of this ID Metering stuff. So the 12.1sec 1/4mile run was not at an official drag strip. I was about to give up and sell the Z then and get something else to ravage my bank account. I guess 13.1sec at 20psi then blowing your engine was stupid and a 13.3sec at 14.5psi is more reasonable even it was with a crap start. When my autobox was being reconditioned I was offered a type of TC that would have been great for dragging but I was warned that it would make the car almost undriveable in normal traffic, so I left it, that must have been something like this Level-10 TC thingy you are talking about. Going to get drunk.

What stall speed? 3000RPMS its very streetable. I emailed few people at tt.net that had it before i decided to buy it.

So you did 13.3 with crap start. And 14.5 PSI of boost.

Level-10 claims 1 sec drop of 1/4 with the billet converter. I got 0.8 sec.

Without it i never did less than 12.9sec. (between 12.9 - 13.4) After installation i always did

In tell you this. Instead of 0.8 sec i say you can get at least 0.5 sec. 13.3 - 0.5 = 12.8 with crap start. With a good start close to 12.5sec? Possible?

I will go on Octomber. There is going to be a proper 1/4 combetition( with time slips). And I will be racing against a TT Supra (thats what I've heard. I hope its not highly modified smile.gif ). Planning also to use NOS and racing gas. Its the first time that something like this happen and i believe 1000s of people will attend because everybody its talking about it.

Good luck, chap - keep the Zed flag flying! Get someone to post some pics of your (I hope) success.

So there we were, me and a few mates enjoying a nice quiet drink in our local can.

Suddenly there's this almighty racket like a 2 stroke engine warming up and then the top of the can gets ripped off by a bloody great chainsaw and we're flung all over the place.

Help !
