Back to normal at last, I can now gun it again after recent weeks of pussyfoot driving as the clutch which was only about 5 months old and 3000 miles was slipping. Another disappointing buy from Z1motorsport. One of the best things about my new clutch is how light it is on the pedal. My previous 2 clutches, the 1st an RPS max and the 2nd a Z1 road clutch, were as heavy as fook. Tha latter also fooked my RPS lightweight flywheel which I had anticipated when I bought the new Exedy track clutch and I also bought their version of the lightweight flywheel. It took 2 hours to complete with me holding the lamp and Jimmer juggling the spanners. He was not much of host tho' as he never even offered me a coffee.;) So new clutch in, weather appalling, and a strong desire to drive the beast, but not in this. I have got my new tension rods, the solid type now currently residing in the boot of the Zed so I might as well fit them one night instead. Profec B on the way so another job and of course Nismo 555's awaiting fitting - by Jimmer. Spare ECU away with you know who for socketing and a chip. Oh well spring won't be long.

Its a mans clutch :D thats what i have fitted now. It felt like it was slipping very slightly last night tho. Must still need wearing in and readjusting. imagine what it would be like to use with a leaking booster :(

I drove mine about 3 miles before I sorted my pipework for the booster, in fact its the only time I've driven the car so far. Heavy bugger, I then jumped straight into my Celica and nearly put my foot through the floor when I went to press its feather light clutch LOL

I have the RPS max and it feels lovely...perfect infact. So John you never went for the max then?

Jimmy try adjusting the pedal again I had to after a couple hundred mile

You must of noticed a big difference from stock and the Max lisa ?

Where should i adjust the biting point to? an inch from the floor or further up? It also bites further up once the car is warm??? hmmm strange im thinking air in system maybe?

yep, sounds like you need to bleed it some more.

Hmmm il wait till i get the braided line then, HURRY UP GB :D

so where should it bite then lower or higher coz it bites quite high when warm and it bites (in my mind) perfect when cold about an ich from floor, but ive read that the rps should be set to bite higher?

At first it was rock hard, but after adjusting it its lovely, I guess I got used to it being hard to start with and now feels great, have driven a standard one since and hate it, couldnt go back now

Mines about an inch from floor, was just on the floor but must have bedded in now. Nick32's is the same biting point as mine I think to

So you must like it hard then lisa? far better than a soft one, it makes it easier to slip in doesnt it?

That was the intention but having drove Jimmers again recently, it is so light and he really gives his car some stick and the clutch is just great. Its been in about 2 years. Sasha had the RPS clutch put in mine, but I do not know when it went in. It was still very usable and is now in Daves (Legraths) car. I bought an Exedy track clutch and lighweight flywheel which was just as well as my RPS lightweight flywheel had worn segments from the shitty Z1motorsport road racing clutch. Its was only in 4 months and totally w@nked. I have never had that happen to a clutch in any other car before.

Thats bad, sounds as bad as the ebay XTD/F1 racing clutches. I was considering the Z1 Street clutch before you kindly offered me your RPS. There's not much info on Z1 full-face street version on the U.S forums, everyone thats bought them seems to go for the Puck version.

Yep those ebay f1/ztd clutch are pants. wasnt even running extended boost and it started slipping, very disappointed :(

Im sure im going to be pleased with the rps max once its settled, adjusted and bled properly.
