The first goodie for my car has to be a decent boost controller to replace the bag 'o' shite thing thats already on it. I dont have millions of pounds to spend so whats the thoughts on here regards a good un to go for?

go for a profec B spec II, by greddy. great bit of kit for a good price (u.s. or aus)

lots of write ups on here for installation and set up.

i got 1 and had no probs with it for over 2 years now.

alan.

What chip are you running first off? Did the previous owner get a more aggressive map to cope with increase boost levels?

TBH im not really sure about that, the thing is I am concerned that the controller on there at the moment is so basic I dont know what its doing. If I get a Greddy or similar at least I can wind it back and make sure its not causing any damage whilst I look into the rest.

Does that make any sense? :wack:

either go for the profec b as suggested or the hks evc 4 or 5

both very good boost controllers :)

tbh if youre not sure what boost youre running and what chip is installed then i'd be inclined to keep a light right foot until youre sure

I was gonna say. I'd remove it, get the engine back to stock and work your way from there.

I'm not fitting a boost controller until every last thing is working sensor wise. I fixed faulty TPS at the weekend. So far, just the o2 sensors to replace before purchase of a more aggressive chip. One of my 02 sensors is fine, but going to replace both anyway. One is being a little lazy. I want to replace the fuel filter, CTS and get some new spark plugs even before I get the chip, let alone before a boost controller.

Your interior is lovely, did you do it?

M

Part did it with Jimmer (seats) and I sent the trim panels to a trim shop as because I wanted all the edges double stitched. Sewing leather is a PITA too and I wanted it to look right.

Thanks :)
