Had a good day with the Z today! First, it passed its MOT, then I replaced the connector for the TPS, fitted a new TPS and set it up! Running a nice 0.44v now, the old one was reading 5.5v and failed to respond to adjustment!!! Also, a new connector for the coolant temperature sensor.

 

A healthy zero codes on the ECU. An oil change too.

 

I also had time today to machine polish one side and bonnet. Then polished with Meguiars DCP before topping up with Collinte 476 wax which leaves the paint looking so nice and wet! It’s hard to get the glassy effect on pearlwhite / superwhite, but I’ve managed to get it a deeper glossier finish now.

 

The reason I wanted to machine polish it again is that when I had my car repainted a few years ago, I had the paintwork detailed. It was too new to lay wax on, so it was polished only. Unfortunately, I forgot to add wax to it after a period of time and it lost a bit of its lustre. Got it back now and it’s protected. Apparently the 476 lasts about 6 months before needing a top up and that’s with cars being left out in the rain. So I shouldn’t need to top up with wax until next summer. :)

 

Just the other side to do now. :( It got dark and damp so I'll do it tomorrow. New wider tyres next week too, so it should look a little 'fatter' :)

 

Shame the summer is nearly over! Oh well, I'll hardly have anything to do next year.
