right i'm thinking of buying a games console, i still own an old Xbox chiped etc but not used it for years. i'm look for something to play racing games on , i us the PC for things like COD4, better with a mouse for shooting.

so it's between the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

i'm not too bothered about Blue ray as i'll get a drive in the pc.

any tips on whats the better for game selection and online playing etc.

i highly reccomend GTA4, right laugh, also worth joing xbox live because the online gaming on any platform is excellent.

I'll agree with that. Xbox Live is awesome and what makes the Xbox a pleasure to use IMO

I got a hardly played on 3month old hdmi 360 with a 20gb hdd for sale (not got around to putting it on ebay yet) with battlefield bad company.

if you do buy hdmi cable even better grapics

I remmember that and the sega magadrive / atari mastersystem converter / SNES, Huge things that had less programming power than a mobile phone. Its like watching evolution

I've never really been into computer games. Had a few as a kid on my Amiga, ie XJ220 and Alien Breed which were brill, but Mario Kart is great. My favourite one is the one for the N64.

This was out in my uni days and some of the best nights I had were with a group of mates, getting trashed playing this. Sad...but at the time, it was great!

yep a 360 and 60gb HD and the GRID game, all linked to the pc and media center, it's cool i can play music and films off the pc

Well said that man! Like I said earlier, I know of 4 of the newer models that get hammered on a daily basis and no signs of any problems. I do agree the earlier models did have issues. Just look at how many there are on ebay with RROD but I think the newer ones have had some of the bugs worked out and are now alot more stable.

Mine has had TROD twice but Mcrosoft have repaired it free on both occasions. The only reason I could see me buying a PS3 is for Gran Tourismo but I wouldn't do that for just one game. I'll stick to my 360 and see what the next generation brings...
