Have seen Unos advert, that is what swung it ;)

I've not got either, but I do have a new Samsung Soul.

I was allowed any phone I wanted on my contract, but chose that one as I already have an all-singing-all-dancing Blackberry. I didn't want another mini-pc phone!

The 'Soul' is quite a neat phone. Looks really good and has loads of quirky features. But the touch pad in the middle can be a pita. Sometimes it's over-sensitive and goes mad and sometimes it's slow and you have to give it quite a firm press. Gets pretty irritating at times. Just hope their other phones don't have that feature!

i have the tmobile version of the diamond same internals slightly less plasticky and rounded, its a very nice phone but you will need to update the rom as the early version is sluggish, the 640x480 screen of the diamond is a joy to use also, the omnia has 320x240 but does have a 5mp camera, though the 3.1 on the diamond is very good.

Mark, stay away from the HTC Touch, its got software aswell as heating problems, phone tends to seriously get hot whilst in use

The omnio seems good so far and is in direct competition with the iphone.....i work in the mobile market so i tend to get this info

the software out the box was a little sluggish, now fixed by a simple rom update, they get warm not seriously hot. the only problem i have now is around 6 people where i work have them as they'r so good.

I do like the look of the omnia, Faisal do you know if I can get satnav on it or would I have to pay to download the maps?

Also do you know when the touch pro/se x1 is defo coming out?

I went for the Iphone.

If you go for the Iphone you get Sat nav for free along with loads of other nice goodies (i.e. free internet surfing, built in ipod, loads of applications you can down load from the apple store via the phone).

Apps include everything you can think of, weather 5 day forcast anywhere in the world, GPS and google earth, MSN messenger, All of whihc are configurable via I-tunes.

The only down side is that it doesn't have a video recorder and the shutter rate of the camera is very slow, soyou can only take pictures of stationary objects.

Personally I think I would have preffered the new Omnia or even wait for the new Google phone to come out which has some very good reviews indeed and is released this month in the states. It's meant to be Iphones best competition.

The only thing about the X1 is that it will probably be in the £45+ tariff :(

Stu does the iphone give you verbal satnav as well?

Unfortunately not mate, but I think there may be an application available that you can download for it. It may cost a few quid though.

no picture message support either - my main dislike about mine!

IMHO out of all the phones i've tried (and we got them all in to try out through our phone contractors) the interface and day to day useablility is far better on the iphone.

I was going to go for Nokia N96 when it came to orange but i think now i'll be saving up for an unlocked iPhone

Iphone there is even a programme or two for it now where you can use it a s ag meter in your car and for drag runs etc but it needs calibrating properly. Programme costs around £8 then free forever more. Got good reviews, not tried it myself but seems like fun, dotn know how accurate though.

Also Googles new phone see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7630888.stm

the iphone really does have some neat features but too many problems and stupid things apple have not put on it is the reason i havent got one so far the X1 seems the complete phone, but time will tell

Agreed the only dislike i have with the fun, some cool quirky pointless apps as well like the i sabre, turnsd your phine in to a light sabre, pretty cool for a 10 min giggle...

Myself and the other half are now both in the quandry of which to get. We were going with the Iphone till we found out about the lack of video recording, MMS and distinctly average camera (mega pixel-wise). These are big things in our book (I use the video recorder when I'm at gigs)

Been digging around on the Omnia, X1 and Android. I love the look and sound of the Omnia but we're going to hold out to see if the X1 delivers...

The omnia is meant to have a good photo video facilty which is important to me, the X1 is meant to be the dogs danglies but HTC is being threatened with legal action over not providing drivers for various facilties.

i had the iphone and it is a nice thing but i sold it after 1 week because overall its a rubbish phone!! has loads of funky stuff but when it comes down to the main function of a phone its rubbish LOL not tried the newer version though.

tbh i have the 8gb n95 and apart from being chunky i like it, unlike the iphone it does pretty much everything well :)

must admit i do like the look of the new samsung and the x1

Ditto. I've had the N95 since release and it's been the best phone I've EVER had. Everything it does, it does well and Nokia have kept on the ball with firmware updates! The phones we're looking at as replacements have a high standard to follow.

Same here the only thing it is lacking is a decent pda facilty which the omnia/x1 have along with satnav and a decent camera :)
