AUTO --> MANUAL conversion is DONE. But small problem

I just got my car from my mechanic.

Car is great, gearbox is great, new clutch installed etc.

But the only problem i have at the moment is with the clutch pedal.

When I press the clutch pedal it goes empty for quite long distance and only at the end it look like it bites. As a result the car feels like it goes with slipping clutch.

We have removed the air from the clutch lines but problem is still there.

Is there any way to make my clutch pedal bite as soon as i press it?

P.S My Level 10 Billet Converter and my AUTO box is on sale. Check FOR SALE AND WANTED

At least you shouldn't have any trouble losing Vectra/Mondeo drivers with a proper Manual box...unlike the Auto Guys! biggrin.gif

I know this question was asked before but does any one have the list of equipment need for the auto manual conversion?

KEEP IT SIDEWAYS;).

I do have a 300ZX...In fact I've owned one for longer than you.Hence,my car is now worth only a few quid, much as your horribly modified car will be if you ever try to sell it! biggrin.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I'm considering trading it in for a GTO soon, before the market completely collapses for the 300ZX and even more are bought by young baseball cap wearing DICKS like yourself! biggrin.gif

Oh dear biggrin.gif never mind tongue.gif

Any Skoda is probably worth more than the average 300ZX now! biggrin.gif

This was my list of parts :-

Gearbox

Gear lever

New leather gear lever boot

Master cylinder

Slave cylinder

All hydraulic pipework

Pedal box

Flywheel

Pressure plate

Clutch disk

Throw out bearing

Front half of the propshaft

The plate that sits between engine & gearbox

Wiring loom for the reverse & neutral gearbox switches

Both clutch servo vacumn tanks + pipework

I would also recommend replacing all the cheap rubber bits like dust seals and so on, plus the shifter bushing plus get the gearbox overhauled before you fit it (unless you drove the car with the new gearbox already)

Dont forget that for the servo vacumn tank

you need a special valve that allows the air to pass but doesnt allow the air to get out.The valve is installed between the vacuum line for the servo.

After i install this valve my clutch its kind of better but my initial clutch problem is still there. I will try to adjust it myself and see if i can make any difference.

I love that 3rd gear.
